Oh my gosh! Seriously? Aha! Agnes it is! I ALWAYS go by either Beatrice or Agnes, because really, they are underrated and much more rare than Ashley will ever be! Plus, they're from a lost generation. I'm bring sexy the 1930's back.
I think there might of been at least another Ashley, too... we'll soon see if she made it. But at this point, it doesn't matter, because I'm now Agnes :D

I KNOW! Once we hit the double digits it stopped seeing so far off. And add in the fact that I have the next three months planned down to the MILLISECOND, and it seems like time is quickly running out!

Packing is going to be a nightmare. I travelled Canada for 9 months with only two suitcases, a backpack, and a purse and I managed to scraaaape by. I mean, it's a year! I want to take my home *with* me! Pictures, notebooks, scrapbooks, momentos, my teddy-dog!, all of my favourite clothes and going away gifts... oh, it's going to be a nightmare. And it is NOT cheap to have stuff sent down to you! Some major downsizing is in the cards.

Chrissi you've got to be kidding!!!! Now i really have to re-evaluate what i'm taking. I don't want to pack a crazy amount, but at the same time i don't think i can pack just one suitcase. Where am i going to put all my shoes?! :D

I have one suitcase practically packed and i'm thinking i'm going to have to bring the other. Oh well. I'd rather be overly prepared than under. Although, if i did forget to pack anything i could always just buy it. What to do....!!!

    Where are you from kekepuana?

That was of course a guy and not a girl ( with a back pack instead of a purse);D
Yeah the shoe problem is difficult. I wanna go to Canada in Oct or November and that's why I have to take my winterjacket as well...But I bought those bags (here they called " space bags") They have a valve where u put your vacuum cleaner on and it vacuums the air out. Do you actually understand what I am talking about?

Wow, that's far too technologically advanced for me. I just stomp on my bags and hope nothing breaks.

I'm never the one who packs far too much - usually on trips I pack less than every single guy does! But I keep remembering that I'm there for a year and I just want to pack up my entire apartment and tug that along with me. Not too much of an option, eh?

Well, I'm pretty creative when it comes to these things. Maybe I'll just wear all my clothes at once to save room! Haha, except for the fact I arrive in June... might be a little warm!

Hey Steph, it's nice to meet you. I'm from good ol' Saskatchewan :D You can call me Beatrice (ashley);D

Thanks a lot Chrissi!!! You had me freaking out about a boy's packing job. I'm totally taking 2 suitcases and a carry on!!!! The "space bags" definitely sound like a good idea. My dad works at a butcher shop and they have one of the vacuum machines :) I just might do that!!! I'm finding it difficult to decide on photos and special things i want to take with me. I guess i'll decide 3 hours before i leave...that's when i plan on packing ::)

Hey Agnes, what are you doing for travel insurance?

In regard to medical insurance.. ive been shopping around.....

you have to carry your canadian medical(bc-med,msp, for us BC-ers)

    TIC(travel insurance company) for a full year 640.00, 6 months 350.00, and 3 months 180.00
    TU(Travel Underwriters) WAY TOOO MUCH!!!!
    BCAA/CAA- looks like they are the cheapest so far,full year 500.00, 6 months 250.00, 3 months 150.00

hope this helps you canadians at all!!!

Hey Bea! I'm leaning toward CAA - I've dealt with them before and I have no complaints! The prices aren't outraaaageous, and I *think* they're one of the groups that pay upfront if something happens.

    You're almost there! Eee!

This sounds pretty sad but...they say we can bring a laptop, duz that mean there is internet in the appartments? i thought there was only internet in the computer rooms??? x :-\

There is high speed internet access in the apartments, but if you don't bring a cable with you, you had better hope your roomates have one or it'll be a trip to Wal Mart.

Some people buy wireless routers so if your room is full of laptops you may be able to sell your roomates on splitting the cost.

Hey again Steph! Still waiting - although, the wait has stopped killing me and I'm almost wishing I had more time here! I'm saying 'almost', though.

Havn't even bothered with the insurance or flights, though! I'll probably end up booking last minute to get a discount :D Lucky for me, I found some flights directly to Toronto and then to Florida! I did *not* want to be shooting all over the world with countless three hour layovers, ugh.

And ps - Watching the Junos? Look for me! Haha, I'm a volunteer as a seat filler! I'm crossing my fingers that I get a seat beside Pierre Lapointe or Malajube or Chad VanGaalen. Mostly Pierre Lapointe though, because I have an enourmous crush on his voice.
