oh god helen you weren't one of those people i A) swerve to avoid B) tell i'm under 18 and C) just have to shake off, were you?

for 4 years i worked at a fruit and veg shop/florist, and i've done work experience in solicitors' offices and i've worked for my mum to help them out with filing etc. in my phone interview, hannah (i think it was) questioned why my first choice would be F&B and i said i wanted to learn new skills while using the skills (e.g. customer service) i already had acquired. you've just gotta adapt everything to make it sound positive.

Lol, I was for a total of 7 days!! Though people didn't have to shake me off, they just had to keep walking cos one of the rules is you're not allowed to follow people!! Haha!! I was doing it to try and get my foot in the door with a charity, but I just couldn't do it. It was too depressing how many people don't give a flying beeeeeeeep :(

i'm one of those people ;D
it can be fun sometimes, like a woman wanted me to adopt a granny in africa and send her money, to which i replied "i don't think you know how grandmothers work..."

I had a very interesting 30 minute chat with a lady from Shelter about the merits of why I didn't feel like giving money to the homeless. Normally I just ignore them but she was pretty fit so I thought I would give it a shot.

I've worked in the same Michelin Star Restaurant for 6 and a half years. Started at the bottom doing the washing up (actually quite enjoyed that) then worked in the kitchen before moving to front of house as a barman and waiter. I walked out in September as they wanted me to work everyday when they wanted and that i didn't have a choice in it. I certainly did as i told them to stick it up their arse :p

I was accosted by a lady who worked for shelter when i went for my visa, in the end i told her I already gave money to shelter (i'm sorry) and we swapped a few jokes.

What bees produce milk? - BOObees! (i actually laughed at that)

What did the fish say when it swam into a wall?- Dam!

    haha, worst jokes ever? :p

HAHAHA Gotta say that is funny :D

With homeless ppl I'll buy Big Issue and thats about it. Oh and I used to give them my free pizza I used to get every shift, when I worked at Pizza Hut... but that was more a selfish thing cos I didn't wanna eat a pizza every shift I worked cos I liked my waist line!!! lol

I worked for an international dev. charity. To be fair I dodge charity people on the street too, and I didn't like being one of those people! I don't feel comfortable giving my bank details out on the street!!! But I guess I was getting a message out there that I believe in, so it was good in that way... and I really was (and still am) desperate to get my foot in the door charitywise! A bit like how a lot of people were desperate to get the CRP really...

LOL well there are a fair few hippy types so maybe they're targeting them! They should just stand outside Stars and kidnap their customers :D And students were actually the nicest kind of people to stop, even if they did say no all the time! :D They seemed to care at least, even if they couldn't part with cash! Hahaha

Umm, I did 5 summers as a recreation/camp counsellor.. I've worked in Multiple kitchens cooking food and have also had too many call center jobs..

"Thanks you for calling Dell hardware and Warranty support, this is Francis and how can I help you with your computer today?" /vomit

I don't think it's necessarily the experience that matters for this job, but the personality. You can be taught how to do your job, but it's the people skills that you need to bring with you :)

i am currently working as a product administrator at a inbound tour operator agency. basicly i get to go to all the hotels and destinations in south africa to put in the brochures that jess used at the travel agency!!!! this upped my knowledge of south afrcia sufficiently, so i think thats why they picked me. and because i cannot stop talking. at disney i am going to be a park greeter, so i am going to talk about south africa the whole day!!

before that i worked in a hotel and as a barman. being able to work for disney is going to be awesome for my cv though as i am in the tourism industry. but me and my girlfriend are doing this year at disney and then we are gonna go work on the ships for 2 years to see the world and save some cash. so i am leaving home for 3 years next month!!! eeeeeeeeeek

cant wait though. its gona be aaaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome!!!!!

Worked at Argos since I was 16, so 5 years now. That was my first and only paid job. I also do volunteer work with children and have been involved in uni committees organising stuff...

I agree, its all about how you present the skills that you have...talk yourself up!!!

Awwww Michelle.....don't worry, you'll be leaving your McJob in no time!

I had my last day of work today...quite sad actually as loads of people are leaving (most are being kicked out because they're cutting down on staff....i.e. the majority of people!) I was the only one who meant to leave. I won't miss the work but I will miss the people (well most of them!)

how many days did you guys leave between your last days of work and your arrival date?

I've worked at Wendy's, envelope stuffed, taught english as a second language, Taco Del Mar, Banquet Server, hostess at Moxies, too expensive bathing suit shop, bakery and pizzeria, event organizer, gyro shop, Uni's walkhome service, office assistant and as a cashier at the grocery store, and im only 19 and went to school the whole time. and was never fired! haha. I just get really bored easily.

the best job was Walkhome! We sat around with friends having free non alchy drinks and food doing whatever until someone wanted a walk home or around campus, then me and my male partner (a different guy every night) would stroll with them wherever they had to go. Basically we walked the streets for money. i miss that job...
