The way I see it is this, the nightlife and partying are not my priority when going down there. Does that mean I'm going to lock my self in my room every night and avoid them? Nope. It just means I'm going to do what I have to do, to ensure I am at my best for the job, and do what I can to avoid putting on a "bad show".

i agree, if my housemates wanna party then thats cool, i live in a shared student house and you just learn to respect each other, i know we have to wrk and things but for the 3 months im ova there i intend to party

Yeah I've lived on my own for the past two years, and while I've gone out every so often I don't think I've ever actually had any alcohol in my room. Thus I know I could handle one more year in in the same terms (wellness). I'm fine if my housemates have the occasional party, but if it's extremely common, I'm out. Plus I'm going for a year, so I need to do what I can to not mess up that year. 3 months is a little easier to get through imo.

Yeah and I'm not saying it's my be all end all choice, I'm going to take whatever they give me off the bat, and if it dosn't work for me rather than try another random over 21 apt. (which I could have the same problems in) I'd just jump to wellness where I believe I could avoid a few of the problems.

I'm 20, turning 21 in August, so for the last month I'll be able to drink.... that is if I actually liked alcohol... oh well, nothing wrong with having a blast in the right state of mind he? I still plan on having an awesome time!

I'm up for pretty much anything to be quite honest :D, I plan on hopefully even hitting an NHL game or two in Tampa, Busch (sp?) Gardens, weeknd trips wherever, whatever.

Swimming with the dolphins wasn't something I thought of but that sounds like a great idea as well! (Adds to the mental list of things to do)

lol nice I wish... I dunno if I'd be able to go a year without hockey myself... I know from another thead we get a TV station that shows all TB games. I'm hopefully gonna go see the Oilers (they'll play the lightning next year but in what city is the question). If not I got the Senators or the Hurricanes to see, and the Mighty Ducks will be going if the Oilers don't.

Might be easier to convice other people to split a rental car with me if I can talk them into seeing the REAL Mighty Ducks lol.

Not sure yet unfortunatly, Eric basically told me I was hired but they don't have a start date for me yet, so to me that sounds an aweful lot like a waitlist (although I'm not 100% sure thats the case yet). Hopefully I'll know sooner than later when I'm going down.

are you kidding me?.....oh man, i would HATE to be in your positon...but hopefully you will get to hear soontime, and then i will be seeing you down there!

Yup it sucks, but I have the fact that he told me I was hired to hold onto, otherwise the wait would be even more unbearable. I don't mind it so much but I wish I actually had a start date, I wouldn't care if I had no other information, so long as I knew when I was going. I know there's other people like me who got the "hired" message, but there's others who got a "successful" message, although I dunno if there's any difference.

Whens your start date? Whats your position going to be down there?

Cool yeah it seems like everyone I met at my interviews is going in August, and quite frankly I'd like to go then... realistically I think right now I'll proably be in about Oct-Dec...

I hope if the Oil are going down I'm not going to miss it... that'd suck for me for sure.
