Taking into account the fact that it'll be BRITISH summertime, maybe this would be better:

LMAO can you imagine the workers at the embassy, what would they think? haha.

I just thought you were to be quite formal for going to the embassy, how long are you likely to be there?

That is wrong on so many levels!!

Since my computer was broken I missed out on the food discussion, but for people from the UK I would suggest Penguins. They are SO yummy!

I was thinking the same thing, and maple syrup is the big out. Though you can buy those "moose dung" chocolates. Other than that I'd say smarties. and Rockets, to prove they are called rockets not smarties like they are in the states. There is lots of canadian candy that I'm going to bring, eatmore used to be my favourite for my aunt and uncle to send when my family lived in the states. And coffee crisps. I can't think of anything else right now though.

For the food to bring from Canada.. Fun flavors of potatoe chips!

Spicy Nacho Doritos, Sweet Chili heat, Ketchup, Roast Chicken... I know the first 3 at least are not sold in the US..

As for clothes.. There are countless factory outlet stores in Orlando.. So if you're ok with wearing last seasons clothes.. at a pretty decent discount.. then buy some when you're down there :) Or be sneaky like me.. grab a part time job at American Eagle and buy all your clothes at 40-50% off ;)

Ya because the Coffee Crisps at the Canada pavillion are $2.50 each. Sure they are very good, but seriously... if I'm gonna pay that for one chocolate bar it's going to be like the a delicious 70% cocoa from somewhere far far away, and I do not mean Canada.
I've never tried Moose Droppings actually. I'll have to go to a souvenir shop and see what they sell that supposedly represents our country. Smarties are a good suggestion, even though I've always preferred M&Ms lol I'm not sure but I don't think they have Kinder Surprise there, do they? Or other Kinder products... they make an amaazing one with hazlenut cream filling.

OHH Janey if you stop by, bring some Geisha chocolates! And Helmi FinnCream liqueur. That's good sh*t right there.

There's an idea for the non-Wellness people - I have to say the liquor stores are well stocked in Orange and Osceola counties but sometimes there are things you can't get down there. Canadians can bring a nice bottle of Niagara region wine, a pack of Keith's, some good ole Wiser's... I'm now thinking of Oh Canada Maple Liqueur. And craving some. Or maybe Polar Ice Northern Maple... Hmm.

FrancisM - you can do that, get an extra job?? I would kill to work at Hot Topic lmao

Yeah coffee Crisps are not worth $2.50. I can live without them. There are moose droppings, bear, polar bear. ummm tons of different ones. I think they are usually just chocolate covered raisins or similar to that. but the packaging is kind of funny. I also prefer M&Ms, especially peanut, but smarties are Canadian so you have to bring a box or two. I don't think they have Kinder Surprise so that could also be good.

i was told to bring some packages of white vinegar because they dont have it in resturants.
i was planning on going to victoria and scoping out all the cheesy tourist shops for 'canadiana'

on a side note are ppl planning on buying a lot of clothes down there? or how are we expected to live for a year by bringing only 2 weeks worth of clothes? that seems like a lot of laundry....
i know i have a problem with way over packing but i was thinking of bringing at least a suitcase or 2 full of clothes/things, is that way off base?

kate I was thinking the same.. I want to bring a bit of shampoo and all that sort of stuff so I dont need to spend a fortune in Walmart the first time out. If i take too much which i know i will. We can always fedex stuff home before we leave.

Ya in the States vinegar is usually used for cleaning. They aren't so into putting it on fries lol I've never been a big fan of that anyways but I know a lot of people who are. I was born and raised in Montreal so mayo goes on fries (also not so popular down there but easier to get lol).

As for clothes/luggage, I have an overpacking problem as well but my plan at the moment is to bring my biggest suitcase, which is quite the monster at 30x20x10 inches lol And that will have all my clothes probably, and sheets and whatnot... Then probably a carry-on sized one as well, with little things that won't get confiscated by the TSA lol. I still have a few months to worry about packing, my plan may change by then. We'll see...

Shopping... I know myself and my habits. I will buy clothes down there. My shopping problem is probably worse than my overpacking one. PLUS we live within walking distance of Premium. So ya that'll be a problem that I will just have to deal with.
