well i go 10 2moro *as i told u on pm *, stayin up 2moro night at toms, ill b bk sunday afternoon/evening i guess, so thats when ill b bk online, if not ill b on monday while at uni! then tuesday i'm off to cardiff for 3 days or so! lol! anythin 2 escape that idiot of an ex at the minute!

I want to say something to that topic too:
Some react with respect and they they tell you that they are proud of you and stuff, but some people, I guess they cannot cope with the situation, or they are oblivious to it, that they will never be able to go there and do something like we will do - to be one year away from home. One said (not a friend!!) that we were just some cheap workers for Disney an stuff like that. But money is not anything in the world - we will gain experience - and that´s it!!
I´m so looking forward to my stay at WDW and nobody can dissuade me.
But luckily the majority supports me with my decision.

That one non-friend was right in terms of the College Program. The summer-only alumni program they're doing is (and I heard this from someone in College Program casting) so they don't have to pay people to re-train or anything like that. Mind you, they might be training me some more (so I can extend my role to other places), but that's the reason.
WDW pays you guys more, and do they pay for your airfare? They also get you guys because you're young and from that country. So that all makes sense to me.

 

Robyn we pay our flight going - then they give us that money back at the end to pay for our flight home. So i guess they pay 1 way - it makes sense i think most programs abroad theres some clause to encourage you to finish ur contract. As no matter how fantastic an opportunity it is some people im sure might not like being so far away from home. Do they pay your flight in the US?

I also wanted to reply to the topic.
The reactions have been different.
My family is very happy for me, they all hugged me and laugh with me, because
it is something I wanted to do since I was 7 years old.
My closest friends were happy too,. but they asked why wasn't I studying.
Then the other people "friends" they are like "yeah...... and?"
Some other have stop talking to me!!!!!
I dont know why, I just leave them, they are not worth it.
If they dont enjoy the other's successes, they are not real friends.

The thing was with me, I applied for the job a few months before 9-11 and got the job a few months after. Somehow my entire family as well as my friends found WDW a likely target, being a symbol of the US etc. But I was determined to go, no matter what. And the only thing I experienced was a power failure in the entire park (Epcot, of course). But that was the day before my first workday, so I never got that day off... hmmm. I also remember they had a huge plan if anything should happen on September 11th 2002. A huge secret plan...

 

yeah im sure i heard tha\t somewhere! good that they have a plan...as i too can see it being a likely target...however there are a few more id expect to be bigger targets, whitehouse empire state buildingetc.

Well I applied for attractions and that's where they hired me. At that time, however, both attractions and merchandise were together. However, the attraction closed right after I came for renovation. Then the ride opened again and the two split. So I started in attractions. The reason I worked in F&B for 6 weeks was because they were understaffed.
And I changed apartments because 8 people was too much for me. Not enough space in apt. 418, especially in the fridge! That's it...

 

oh right thanks for telling me. im a very curious person about anything and everything disney!
