What are peoples reactions when you tell them what you are doing?

I love to see people's reactions so I build it up slowly ....

"I worked out in the States doing 2 training programs" .. this usually gets a .. oh really, where? reaction ...
Florida ... oh thats great .. who for "Disney" ....OMG   and then the 3 billion questions and all about how DOES Mickey get from one side of the park to the other in under 30 seconds.....

I've been back 3 years and I still get a kick out of it!
just one question to you HolidayRep - how on earth are you getting out there in April (jobs visa etc) and you have room in your suitcase for a little one?

It gets easier to not say anything. Disney brainwashes you to not say anything.

 

I get completely different reactions when i tell people im going to disney. Some of the people id never expect to be have been really supportive and excited: Telling me its an incredible opportunity and im gonna have the best year ever.

I also get the so ru an actress are u going to be a character like snow white/cinderella?
Ur going back to America already?
Why can u only work in the UK pavillion?

Most negative ive had is people who are just like so ur gonna be a shop assistant for a year?
Why wouldnt u wanna use ur degree?
I was at a meeting where this European quality board was certifying my management school and was speaking to students. He asked what i was doing after graduation when i said i would be taking a gap year working for disney - he was like in California. I was like no florida hes like oh california is where the head quarters is. He seemed very unimpressed!

Most people think "Oh wow! But you're not from Florida. How'd you get the job?" And then they ask me all kinds of questions about what I did, where did I work, how long was I there...

Hi, sorry its took me so long to reply. Had a nasty bug Well ive been employed by a British tour operator out there to work as a rep for British customers. Ive been doing this for the past couple of years in Spain. They organise all my visas (J1 btw) and everything else We get our accom (villa in Kissimmee), car, weekly wages and then commission on excursions sold.
