Thanks Marie! I'll have to have a look into that type of thing. Kerry Congrats by the way. (Am I the only one on here with bad news? )
Hi Tinks, I am really sorry to hear your bad news - Its mean sometimes as you wana say to them "Do u realise how good I would be at that job!" as You know yourself you would give it your all. I just wish u the best for the future applications but like everyone has said DON'T GIVE UP, this year obviously wasn't your time to go, but I am sure you will get there one day! I am in my 3rd year of uni and have soooo much experience in writing CV's, if u want me to take a look and help u with some pointers on a covering letter, I can do that, anything to break up my day in work (I am currently on a placement year!) - I did my boyfriends for him and its now glowing!! So send it over anytime I think my e-mail is on my profile. Lots of Love Gemma xx P.S Chin up
hi tinks...im sooo sorry to hear that you didnt get through... keep applying, your determination will show how much you want this job,if you want something soo bad, then one day it will happen for you, dont ever give up... i sent a covering letter with my cv,just trying to 'sell' myself to them, and i put a little cheesy bit in at the end saying how i felt i could fit the role of a castmember perfectly!! i have worked in alot of pubs and clubs, restuarants and retail, maybe that helped im not sure, but just get as much experience working in different areas with the general public,if you need any advice then im here to help.... good luck next time love stephxxxx
I'm sorry to hear you got rejected Kerry :'( I really would have liked to have met you at the february interviews Do you have breaks from college e.g. for the summer and Christmas? If so you could try applying to work in a supermarket e.g. at ASDA or TESCO as they take on seasonal workers and that way you could work when you were not at college. Some shops don't want people to do lots of hours. I used to work in a department store for four hours a week, so it might be worth just picking up some application forms for shops after christmas. Have they told you how long you have to wait until you apply again? Good luck xx ;D
That's really sound advice actiually, you could do a few hours on a saturday or sunday when you weren't up to much anyway. It's always worth looking into. Don't forget to try clothes shops and things as well (discount! )
I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm in tourism school and we did a weeks worth of cover letter and resume writing skills and how to make it look the way businesses want it. If you would like you could email me you resume and I could help you touch it up a bit, make it the way I learned in school. We had guest speakers and everything so it was really helpful. Let me know! My email is fabuloustessa@hotmail.com - Tessa
I don't think it makes a difference kelly, I think they're not allowed to talk about it/give feedback if your rejected?
I think it would be a good idea to call and ask why you were rejected. Don't say "why was I rejected" but word it more like "I was wondering if you could give me some advice on what to work on to be accepted into the program" or something along those lines. In school we had some inteview specialists come in and they all said that is a good thing to do if you're rejected.
sorry to here about the bad news tinks, i no how bad it was to be rejected twice, but i can't even begin to imagin how hard it has been for you to go through the process 4 times now. but as everyone else is saying keep ur chin up and don't lose faith ur'll get it when the time is right. as they say everything happern for a reason hugz jenine
