thought i'd post a message quick to say we're here! i'm working in F&B in adventure land in Magic Kingdom and the costume is awful!! oh well!

yes traditions is extremelly boring, does last about 8 hours and the hot chocolate is good...everything is so air conditioned here that it's only hot when you're outside!

just spent the day in animal kingom and went to see Keane in downtown disney this morning!

I’m finally done all of my training and it feels like traditions was soooo long ago. But let me tell you guys after all of the training (1 week for me) It feels so good to be out on stage working!

Hi Claire! I just got here 2 days ago.. feels a lot longer! Its all good so far... doing all the form filling stuff then got traditions on saturday!

Sara i take it u got linz's email then? She thought it hadnt sent. the computers were sooo slow in commons pod yesterday. But internets great in apts so glad i got my laptop!
Sorry i didnt text u back on tuesday... i left my phone in my dads car and ran to customs just in time!

Please is everybody scared to say the truth yeah fair play some people do get the good jobs but theres thousands of us here!!!!!! the majority are bad!!!!!!! ps u dont get mixed wiv culutres (wots that all baout in the interviews askin if we mind bein mixed wiv otha cultures??) the yanks r 2getha the brits r 2 getha and theres people from hong kong 2 no cross cultural variation at all!!!!!! maybe people from other cultures dont believe in slave labour i ask myself??????

 

to be honest, i'm not trying to have a go, but is it fair trying to put people off something they r lookin forward to gettin to florida and doing. yes your job mayb not what u were thinkin it would b, but others r enjoying themselves. there is a difference between the CP and the IP, so it's not fair for u to criticise people about being untruthful, when they r bein truthful, just because the same opinion isn't shared!

we all no that some jobs may not be wot we expected, but thats a risk were all willing to take to have the summer/year of our life!!!!

at the end of the day every job, choice and oppertunity in life is what you make it and if people don't wanna mix with other nationalities then thats there choice (it does make going home that much easier as u no ur mate will be in the same country)

so no matter what job ur given even if its scrubing the loos then just deal with it when the time comes and make it what u wanna make it!!!! life will always be full of disopointments and its what u do to counteract these that make the experiences something to be treasured ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

soo all in all have fun and take full advantage of everything thats thrown ur way

That's your opinion Hiani. But what did you think is a custodials job about? Walking through the parks and just talk with guests ???
I have to say the job isn't the best if not even the worst. But you choose it! Normaly it doesn't take 2hours to get home and if they gave you this shit shifts then ask them if they can change them.
I think you can ask to change the Apt. I knew a German (IP) who wanted to live with Americans and changed from the Commons to Vista. Just open your mouth and say something and they may help you!
Hope you find a way to enjoy your stay!

what disney DVD were u watching steph!!! i watch my family ones last night oh the memories it brought back, just makes me wanna go even more now!!! so i'm think it was a bad idea to watch em lol as it had all the perades and shows on it which was cool..... ;D ;D ;D oh well it keeps me motivavated!!!

I'm sorry to say this but don't listen to Hiani!!!

Anyone going to do the IP will have the time of your life! It's amazing! Yes the job can get to you sometimes but what job doesn't???!!!! But if the job does get to you you've got so many options outside of work to take your mind of things! And so many great friends! I'm also of the opinion if you don't like it go home and let someone else have the job! It really is the opportunity of a lifetime! A girl who arrived with me left after only 1 week as she didn't like it which annoyed me a little as someone else could have had that job!!!

Marie, glad you and Lindsey are enjoying it! I might see you soon heading out on holiday on Friday and still got some free passes from when I worked on the cruise! So I might pop into Epcot one day!!!!

I love it so far. I dont start work till Tuesday so cant comment on the job but most peoples apts here at commons seem to be mixed unless people have changed specifically. In my apt my roommate is from mexico, my other 4 apt mates are from Canada, France, Germany and South Africa.

I have 6 days of shifts this week but thats what i expected and even tho i'll be working hard some of my shifts dont start till late afternoon or finish mid afternoon so i can still goto the parks etc if i want. Im sure its prob not the right program for everyone and they said on first day expect a rollercoaster of a yr so hope ur experience gets better soon Hiani.

I have always said if you don't like it...leave!!! Even more on the IP, than CP. There are lots of people that are on the waiting list...like I was...that really want to be there, so go home and give them a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the year program, is it possible for them to replace you. I know lots of people that took over other peoples visas.

The CP is very different from the IP. You all pretty much arrive at once and because you are there for such a short time, it's just as easy for them to put people together. The IP is more of a cultural experience...CP is to work. You aren't there as a cultural rep like the IP.

We don't sugar coat the experience. We've all said that there are bad points, but the good usually outweigh the bad. I don't think after a week or two you can really comment on the entire experience.

Sorry to be blunt...but...suck it up or go home.
