wat happens the nite u get there????

I know this sounds silly but the only thing I'm concerned about is my contact lenses and whether I would be safe wearing them considering it sounds like we may get soaked! Anyway dont know why I am so concerned right now seen as I am only just starting the application process!

LOL You shouldn't worry at all, it's really fun and very memorable and you definitely won't get hurt or embarrassed. Maybe some people from the UK who have just returned can tell you if they throw-in their new arrivals. I only knew of the canadians, germans, norwegians and mexicans. But I know lots of stuff changed after I left.

Yes UK new arrivals do get thrown in. Thrown in doesn't mean into the lake. I think they terminate you for that, there are snakes and stuff in the lake so it's probably not the best thing to do!

 

the UK does do throw ins like most of the other countries. it is a great themed night of getting to know the newbies and having a party and a good laugh. But none of this naked stuff and getting into a lake, ure imaganations do run wild!!!!!!!!

Everything we do is in good spirit and great craic, so just look forward to your first night and stop fretting!!!

Like I told Lindsey...your throw-in is meant to welcome all the newbies and to get the whole pavilion together to celebrate. Things can get a little crazy (no nakedness or being thrown in the lake), but it is all for fun. You only have your throw-in once, so have fun!!!! Just remember that whatever happens, you get to do it to all the other newbies for the next year. They are a tradition that (for most countries) have been going on for years and the one thing that everyone that has worked in the pavilion has as a common memory.

i know i dunno what to wear for my throwin... might wear a bikini underneath something if we're gonna get flung in the water.... lol watch me show up for my throwin in a bikini prepared!

I dunno what to wear for traditions either... cos it says in disney look book... if u wear skirt u have to wear tights/stockings... but if u wear trousers u have to wear watching jacket... it all sounds way too warm - for florida sun!

I only wear tights for work cos its compulsory - part of our uniform that makes us look like air hostesses!
