Waitlisting...

All I really know was before I even went to the interviews I was told they were going to take at least 40 people, and then there's the waitlist on top of that. I think off the top of my head there was 4 or 5 people (including me) waitlisted here, but I don't know how many that don't visit the site.

 

That's so funny! Why? Cause I've done the same thing. I had no idea why I'd apply so I stopped permenantly dying my hair 4 years ago. And I've wanted a nose ring since I was 17 but I knew it wasn't the "Disney Look" so I held off (btw I'm now 22). Definately dedicated to this job ... long before I applied.

 

Uh, you can have piercings just as long as you're able to take them out during your shift. Or you could've gotten your nose pierced when you were 17 and just took it out right before you left or something. I even thought about doing that and having a nose ring for 2months but it'd be fun.

 

Hi everyone this is my first post. Like other applicants I have been desperatly waiting for word from Cast A Way on the Canadian pavillion job. Well I just spoke to Eric and have joined some of you on the "Wait List" He told me I was successful but they didn't have a spot for me yet. I was so excited and then so frustrated. More waiting. I mean it's nice to know I am sort of hired but with no place. I wanted to throw the phone out the window!!! So I feel your pain Jordan.

 

Yeah it didn't bug me much on Monday, when I found out, but it sure did yesterday after getting those e-mails from Nicola and finding out I was really on a waitlist... OH well today I'm better with it, but it's weird whats still effecting me, like for example last night there was a Walt Disney world commercial that came on with When you wish upon a star playing in the background... that got to me for a little bit... OH well hopefully the call is coming soon.

 

Hey, Just look at it this way...

Those commercials will bring in more tourists, which in turn will create the need for more employees, which will open up some more spots for us! haha

I am sure the call will come when you least expect it! (a watched pot never boils)

Yeah it's tough for me to watch it anyway, the Phone number Eric has is my perminent number which is about 2 hours away from the University I'm at right now lol. I'm hoping they call someday and I get a frantic call from home, but realisticly I'll be back home when he calls.

i had a nose ring amongst other pircings but i took them out years ago...for that reason...but i never got a tattoo just incase!

Hi Glenpreece ... welcome to the waiting list ... Congrats!!!

I was pretty bummed when I got off the phone with Eric yesterday. More waiting? Great. But I'm alot happier today! I started seeing the glass as half full. I'll get there eventually ... the answer of "someday" is better than a no after all.

Thanks to Snow for the words of encouragement (the very first post on this thread) I read it again and it made me feel alot better. Also, you know what I thought of yesterday? When I was in Montreal for the F2F interviews Eric asked if anyone was available for March cause they still needed to fill some spots. Although that didn't really work for me it's gotta tell us all something. Hiring is very unpredictable and they are constantly having to fill spots ... which says to me that probably none of us on the waiting list will be waiting very long before we have a start date ... and our start dates could be really close. Here's to hoping.

*squeal of excitment* We're going to Disney World!!!!

lol not to sound rude or anything but I would love that! IN a way the sooner the better for me, my degree is a teaching degree and it'll tough enough to find work for the following year in July/Aug let alone in December/Janurary...

lol true enough, thats usually how it goes when people say stuff like that... me I just like to cover my own rear end when it comes to situations like that lol.

 

I know I am really trying to see it as a good thing. I just hate getting my hopes up that's all. I really hope we can all make it to WDW. I think Disney aholics should get first spot. Don't get me wrong I will have fun while there hopefully but unlike my friends who got hired a couple years back I won't be drunk every night and high like they were. I love kate and allison dearly but they just didn't care that much for Disney. BTW they are both in the Le Cellier movie. I cracked up when I saw them.

Guys, quick question... Were you told you were actually waitlisted?

Because when I got in, I was just told that they didn't know the definate dates yet (so I had to call them on December 19th to find out for definate).

I mean, I knew I was in, but until I contacted them (was told to contact them on the 19th or after), I didn't know when I was going.

Could it be that the same thing has happened in your situation-just that you haven't been told to contact them?

Perhaps *shrugs* Just seems like there's lots of you waitlisted...

I'm just speculating from what Snow.White has said (she was waitlisted) and from what Nicola said.

Originally the interviews were for positions in Sept-Dec (thats what she told me in the phone interview).

In my e-mail from the other day she said they're waiting for more dates from Disney, could be a week could be a year.

To me that sounds like they're waiting for people to get termed or self term and we're to fill in the spots. I was also given no defonate call back date for a position either.

I mean maybe I'm not "officially" waitlisted, but I'm defonatly on a waiting, with my name on a list for a position when one comes up...

 

yes, it sounds like waiting list, was the same Liliana(mexican recruit team) told to me, but she use the therm waiting list... but its the same is for a year and whenever a spot its open, but hey! its better than a no right?? so dont give up! i know the wait its too hard! im on that too, but smile and keep thinking positive

Thanks Snow White. I was not given a date to call them back. was just told to wait for the call when positions become available could be a week or two or a month or two. Who knows. If I don't get a call I am just going to go on a vacation there again and see what I can do about getting a job myself. I will honestly become a dual citizen if I have to.

I am another one that is on the "waitlist". It sucks hearing that everyone has dates .. and we're still out of the loop. Ah well i guess we just have to have hope that its them calling us EVERYTIME the phone rings, its driving me mad!, only because Nicola did say "it could be next week, next month, next few months"....ah, those are big gaps!
