im not on the waitlist any more.. i start june 15th.. f and b.. not what i wanted but hey at least im out of here.... cambodia can wait for now

I am really not liking this waitlist thing. Why haven't any of us Canadians heard anything yet??? It just really irks me especially if we weren't their first choice. That we are the back ups till somebody gets fired or drops out. I'd feel better if I was told I was going for sure and that there aren't enough spaces. Not that we've been accpeted just no date and we have to sit and wait.Because if having no date for us was the case why bother doing more interviews when you've got people who are suitable for the job sitting waiting to go. I know I am being a downer but I can't help it. Work sucks and this was my way out. I was really looking forward to this job. I want it more than anything I have ever known in my life.

 

Now Now, Glen. I know it's hard to wait but I didnt get my position because someone was fired, as far as I'm concerned my date was too far in the future for them to give any specific date to me at the moment thus I was waitlisted. I don't know what the deal is, really. As for interviewing more people...well, there are dates further in the future than need to be accounted for, Cast-a-way has a system and I know it sucks to be waitlisted but it does NOT mean you're any less of a employee in Disney's eyes.

I wish I could give up my spot to one of you guys. I guess all I can say is to keep telling you guys not to give up hope. I was called eventually, hopefully you will be too....

 

ya i totally understand what your going through glenpreece. I was hoping this would be my out of burlington and my current job. Which could very well still happen ... its just taking longer then any of us hoped it would. I even e-mailed nicola a couple days ago to see if thier was any new news ... but no reply. Oh well more waiting ... i'm not losing hope, especially because snow.white87 was in this position and look how its turned out for her!

 

yup im uk f&b june 13th was the date i was given today. so this saturday, if anybody is in belfast.. be on the look out for a very happy very drunk me... and its the irish cup final that day.. ohhh happy days

I know how you guys feel. This has been my dream job since i was 13 years old! :'( It would mean sooooo much to me to get 'that' call!!
But lets hope there will be more good news for the rest of us very soon!!

Cooool! I met a fellow Waitlister while I was in Montreal this weekend, made me decide that you guys all HAVE to get in! We'd have sooo much fun together!

 

So I am semi-removing myself from the waitinglist!

Eric called me today and offered me a six month position working QS F&B in ANY of the parks. I'll be down there June 20th - Nov 11th and when I get home I'm back on the waitinglist for the full year program. The Visa I have to get is a H2B Visa. It's a program that didn't exist when we were at our interviews in March. So when I get home in Nov it could be just a matter of months before I head back down for the full year (Eric said like Dec-Mar). I'm so exicted .... a little bummed that I won't be working at the Canadian Pavillion though. But so excited, I was sure I wouldn't get a start date till Feb!

My phone call today was a great mood booster (I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled on Monday ... and I got dumped a few weeks ago after a 4 year relationship ... I am so ready to get out here!).

I hope there are more posts like this to follow ... this waiting game really is unpredictable!

Hey i got the same position as you Mara Mouse!!, Eric called me today to!. I was soo surprised cause i thought to that i wasnt going to hear anything till feb. BUT i'm soo HAPPY, soo much to do in such little time but i'm so ready to get out of here!!

Congarts you guys thats awsome. You leave so soon , Im still waiting but who knows those of us waiting many not be for long. Do either of you know if there are many of these new positions? It would be so much fun if a bunch of us on the waitlist get to go down and do this new 6 month program.
