Waitlisted ...

Lol.. That's the type of thing I'd do, but never got round to doing it.

We'll be fine, we just gotta stay positive.

I've told yummy I can't do any dates after August as I have a wedding to attend in August 2012. My friend made it perfectly clear I'm to be there. She even said she'd pay for my flight back just to attend one day lol.


How's everyone doing? The wait is pretty difficult, but I'm trying my best to just be positive etc

 

lol yeah you can Mikey, you were one of the Scottish applicants weren't you? Im applying in Jan and im Scottish too.

 

I told them I can go out anytime, I just have to give a months notice. Hopefully that will work in my favour. I'm okay, obviously would rather be in a position where I had a date- but I'm taking the positive approach too. I'm hoping that I will be able to push it to the back of my mind, and then one day an offer will just come out of the blue and totally surprise me

 

I've only recently had to tell them about the wedding thing cos as far as I was aware, they'd only be giving dates out until June.

The only thing that makes it difficult forgetting about it, is the fact that everyone is constantly asking me whether I've heard from Disney. There's not a day that goes by when I get asked. I wish I had kept it to myself lol.

 

I know exactly what you mean, I keep getting asked too. So then I have to explain it all etc etc lol. I think that is prettttty much everyone now though- so hopefully now I can push it to the back of mind. I just need to create a distraction!

anyone heard of people bein rejected from the face to face interviews? think everyone on here got at least waitlisted

 

nice 1 im in glasgow, if you waitlisted you mite not get a slot till nearer july/aug when us next lot of applicants are given dates. Means at least there will be in few scots in "the lads"

 

I haven't heard of people being rejected, but then again some of them may not be posters on here or may not want to come and post here after getting the news!

Jill mentioned in my interview that they don't send people out in January, so I think we can definitely rule that month out for dates. I still think we've got a really good chance of going out though, but we just have to be a bit more patient! I wonder why they've given out dates for september though- that's an extra three months extra than they originally said (not forgetting those who got dates for this year aswell).

I'd love to hear something before christmas! I really can't hope to hear anything within the next few weeks really as it seems yummy are really busy but I'd love to think I'd get some good news just before christmas (otherwise I'd have to face all the annoying questions from the family I don't see that often!) x

 

hey i think you are right on the jan front, as yummy get bombarded with applications from us in jan so they are prob busy dealing with all them. It is strange why some people have aug/sept dates when july-dec is meant to be for the jan 2011 applicants...

 

I get the impression that they extended the dates 'till sept as they liked so many applicants. The Summer applications in the past have always been for the following feb-aug, so it's not that different to them. But hey, as they have extended to sept. That means more dates, more chance of us getting off the list

 

which is good as you all seem fab!

Also it means the more of you will be over there if us newbies get in too 8)

 

From what you said made me remember my friends wedding is in june/july 2012 too. Oh i dont no what to do! will it lessen my chances?

hopefully ur given a date before june 2011! i think it's just hannah@yummyjobs.com, there's support@yummyjobs.com which is what sends out all the e-mails - im sure somebody would read that. yeah im the same checkin my phone more for missed calls lol i'll definitely come on here quick if i hear anythin or get the call ;D

 

So it's been a while since i heard the news but I too have been waitlisted. I took it pretty badly as I'm one of those people who doesn't like the "not knowing" bit... I'd rather have a yes or no so yeah it's a weird situation to be in. I'm kinda in limbo at the mo as i don't really wanna know what to do :-( i literally would fly out tomorrow if they rang me coz i literally could do that so yeah i don;t know whether to reapply in january or just hold out hoping they'll ring or email me.

Yeah Sarah I've asked Hannah a couple of questions, took a couple of days to reply because I'm sure they're busy down there. If you have anything you need to know get in touch with her seriously! I'm facing the music now as I've decided to get on with life at the moment as if I haven't got it until I hear otherwise, it's not fun living in limbo so I'm fitting another plan together.

I've been thinking if they've already recruited from Feb to Sept, then there must be a slim chance of new positions arising unless some people drop out, get fired or self-term over there. The only reason all the last waitlistees from the last batch got off it was because they only recruited for a few months. We're only on it to fill the gaps, whereas last time people were waitlisted as it seemed not all the departure dates had been sorted. I hope I'm wrong! But, meh... I'm feeling all pessimistic about it now..

Yeah I've been waitlisted too... have distanced myself from the boards a bit, as beforehand it was an addiction I was considering getting help for lol.
I'm trying to stay positive but in the mean time to get on with things an looking for a job etc. However I am off to Florida in the morning for a few weeks holiday, so will be good to get back into the environment out there! Don't know how I'll cope in the UK pavillion of Epcot though, I'll either be so determined to get out there, or I could cry lol
Hope you are all bearing up well!!!

P.S I have heard of a couple of people getting a no, so we should count our blessings that at least we are on the waitlist! xx

 

hey guys...
been waitlisted too... feeling more and more negative by the day, just dont know what to do with myself. also been distancing myself from the boards, so scared ill see someone from the waitlist has got a date and tat will make me worry even more. hopefully, it'll all be good and we'll get dates too though!
hope im not the only one feeling a bit pessimistic about it all :S x

 

Hi I know this is really easy for me to say, since im yet to apply, but as an impartial outsider, what i have seen looking back through previous years is that everyone gets off the list, its just a way of them keeping people they like until a vacancy arises. The odds are some people will go beofre you just because they tend to take a person off one person at a time, but I would take it as a good sign if people are coming off the list, it means they are working through it. You should join the fb group everyone is really nice and supportive on it
