    Hey again guys,

Glad to hear things are moving along! That's great news - big congrats to you cheekylett. I've just had an update from Hannah with regards to the email which I thought was quite promising from what she has had to say. Basically, Disney loved everybody this year and hardly anybody was unsuccessful - and that it's difficult to say whether positions will arise between now and March. However, this should be the case based on previous recruitment seasons. So, it's just YJ waiting on the updates from Disney now that's the clincher.

But at least one down, few more to go!

I think the confusion from the visas comes from when people drop out before actually going out to Disney.
If you take the place of a drop out (instead of someone who is termed), then it's likely you'll have a shorter notice period, and as such, the visa petition will have already been sent to the US Embassy by Disney. In this case, they can replace who the petition is made for, and the new person (hopefully one of you guys) has the visa interview etc.
It means you still get a 12 month visa, but you are in actual fact taking someone elses full visa.

Basically... don't worry, you will get a full 12 months, even if you're on someone else's visa! :p

i was talking about when people self term or are terminated DURING their time in orlando on the program, they leave and therefore disney take someone over to fill the vacant place..... this new person in effect takes over the previous persons position and contract and visa....so they therefore only stay for the inital length of time the that first person had left.... i know because i saw it happen to a lot of people during my time there!!

yeah would be rubbish, the rules may well have changed but that was what happened a few years ago while i was there, its not really disney at fault for that tho its just that there is a visa in place and a job to fill so they just have to put bums on seats so to speak and get someone to fill that place! fingers crossed that those on the waitlist get over there for a full year tho but yeah, i know that this does happen

yeah i think its just one of these things and you're quite right Disney will need someone to fill that place, but can you imagine only getting 2 or 3 months, that would be such a shame.

That may have happened previously that people fill in the remaining visa time, however when I asked at the interviews Hannah was quick to express that doesn't happen & everyone gets 12 months out there, as everyone has their own visa even the opportunity listed.

hey guys did a quick tally, think there are 12 of us opportunity listed on this so then i did a count of uk folks who got in and what date from the other thread -

    1 feb 3
    15 feb 3
    8 march 1
    22 march 2
    12 april 2
    3 may 3
    7 june 3
    21 june 3
    16 aug 2
    6 sep 4
    20 sep 3

so no dates in january or july yet, maybe a good thing ??? i think it's around 7 or 8 for each departure group so hopefully they add us to the above dates later or even make new dates available. Even counting the accepted people not on this forum i think they can fit us 12 in somewhere :)

Speaking from past experience (this was my 4th app, lol!) I haven't ever seen them send anyone out in Jan, I think they keep that month free. I have seen one or two people post they are going out in July, but still yes- plenty of room for us waitlistee's :D
