Waiting for results of the phone interview!

I'm afraid I can't personally help you on your question... butttt..... welcome to the forums anyway! 8)

well I was told it would be about 4 weeks, and my interview was about 17 days ago- so with that time span i'm assuming it will be around the end of feb. However, they may decide before and let us know. I hope this is useful to you!!

I've just been reading some of other posts on here, which have people applied for f&b or merchandise? i opted for merchandise but really unsure if i made the rite decision now! xxx

 

I'm applying next year.. not too sure what to pick!
I assume you make more money overall in FS (correct me if i'm wrong?) but I would just drop food and smash the plates and be totally useless so QS would be probably be more suited to me, although I'm not sure I could stand smelling the fish and chips all day LOL! :-\
I think I would prefer working in Merch although I prefer the f&b costume

 

If you do f&b you alternate between the chip shop and the rose and crown- so you don't just put down FS or QS. It's just f&b.
I'm pretty sure that the people who are in the fish and chip shop are the newbies, I could be wrong though...

I'm applying for merch as I've only ever worked in retail + in merch you get the opportunity to do kidcot which I would really love to do
I don't mind doing f&b though, will be a new experience!

If you get through to the f2f's you have a form where you put down what your first and second choice is, so if you change your mind in the meantime- you can always opt for f&b

 

What are the different costumes? I thought we were all in the same...

 

Merch and f&b have different costumes. They are pretty much the same I think, they just vary slightly

 

Ohh I thought you had to choose QS or FS, never mind about that then lol!
And yeah I'm sure I saw two different uniforms for CRB Merch and f&b... on some thread but I forget it's name...

 

Hey. I too am still waiting...soooo long and i only had my interview on the 9th - you people who had them earlier must be going crazy!!
For some reason Michele couldn't find me on the website and didn't even know i had gone through them for another program before...??
But anyway she asked me what i had experience in and what i wanted to do, i said F&B, although all my work was in merch (including at WDW before) but she said they wanted people with solid F&B experience to do it as lots of people can't handle it?? :-\ I pressed the subject (as friendly as possible tho - hope that doesn't cost me my place!!), as i know F&B get loads more money so she said i could talk to the recruiters at the f-to-f interview and see what they say...

Oh well anything would be great, just to get back out there, i'm sick of dull England!!

My phone interview was on 30th January! It actually does feel like forever ago!
I soo want to be able to do this programme - but the wait is KILLING ME! I just hate looking at my emails every day incase there is a message! I WANT a message so that it puts me out of my misery, but i DONT want a message incase its bad?!
You know what I mean? lol

And they didn't ask me what I wanted to work in (F+B or Merch) - or do you think they will just assume Merch as i have no F+B experience and I currently work in the Disney Store - soo it might seem like a no brainer! lol

I know a couple of ppl on here said that they did the phone interview in Jan like myself and it feels so long ago. I have been trying to wait patiently and it is so so hard, I am losing it noooow!! It will b 3 weeks 2moro. they did say 3 to 4 weeks so omg omg. Its cool that she asked u which part u wanted to work in. I didn't have michelle, i had this guy and he didnt ask me that but he did ask me other cool questions.
Yea i know exactly what u mean by the whole checking the email and u wanna know but then ur worried if its a bad one hehehe, so ur happy u dont get the email straight away lol. Yea its agonising.

 

No they dont presume anything Si-keo, plus its at the f2f when you tell them in what order u u would like to work in what area.

1. F&B
2. Merch
3. Whateva!

And BeautifulBelle when you arrive if ur in F&B you work in the Fish and chip shop and as in the rose and crown where you sit people at their tables and act as the matre'd. However after a few months you then train for a tipped position. One day you could work fish and chip then the next seater, the next greeter, then back in fish and chips.

 

Its been only a week for me now and I still cant handle the tension! Because the phone interviews are finished Im checking my email every day hoping for something! I just want to know as well!! haha.

For those who did their interview in January I dont know how youre coping!!
I keep going over the interview in my head and thinking how I answered the questions hoping I did enough to get a f2f!

Im hoping for f&b because I have some experience there (Ive been at Pizza Hut since last summer) and ive worked in retail a lot but never really enjoyed it. So I hope we have some kind of a choice but Ill just be happy to get a f2f interview!!
I did ask in the interview though whether we have a choice or not and the guy said its pretty much based on experience and where they think you would suit.

 

Well Arron its been 3 weeks since my interview. I am not functioning to well. I sleep badly, the nightmares are becoming more frequent and im pretty sure my hair is beginning to fall out, all in all life is pretty special.

And yea definitely f&b, much better guest interaction in my opinion.

COME ON YUMMY this is bloody brutal.

 

did you get asked what you wanted to do in the phone interview. i got asked my preference and then my experiance in that area.

 

Haha sounds like your one of the better ones then, Ive heard of some people who sleep under their bed at night and eat grass for supper.

everytime I come on this forum doesnt help either! I spend an hour or two just remiscing of the last time I was there and hoping I get to go back!!

The guest interaction is pretty good either way, especially in kidcot, but Id still prefer F&B

Its a different kind of interaction with kidcot tho, i mean i remember when i was working in Rose and Crown and my mates in merch would say how boring it gets working in the same shops day after day. Although i imagine kidcot would be fun.

 

Yeah i guess, I dont think I could last doing that just standing around in shops, Ive done it before, though obviously doing it at Disney would be something else!

Hopefully in f&b I can do what I did in fantasyland and even now at pizza hut which is just interacting with them and because I have more time with them you can get to know them a bit more as well. and of course serve them bangers and mash 8)

 

hahaha yes banger and mash woohoo. or toad in the hole hehe. I think all of the f&b and merch is good. Its Disney and they have alot of guest interaction regardless. Plus i think working in Merch or f&b in disney will b so so different from ur normal shops in towns or even in city. its like saying to urself its dissnneeyy!!!! so standing in a shop wont feel liike standing in any shop if u know what i mean and kid cot would b so amazing for anyone coz u can just chat and enjoy working with the kids on there cute little pictures!!
