    That's good to know! ;D
Guess they are fast movers in Belfast then! I go on a Wednesday so I guess it would be safe enough to book a flight for the following Monday. Or maybe even Saturday!

I saw at the embassy in London for 3 hours (not as bad as this group of scottish guys who were there for about 7 hours in total! I even got out before them!). My visa came through quicker than I thought so I don't think they take that long to process if everything on the forms are perfect, but they spelt my middle name wrong!! Someone's coming tomorrow from the SMS service to take it back and get it fixed, what a kerfuffle!

Well I managed to get my appointment moved up. Yay! ;D I called the embassy (again, a Scottish dude :-\ 8)) and I got an emergency appointment for June 6th [***breathing a great sigh of relief.....aaaaaaa...***]. Annnnnd... my DS-2019 has arrived (well...it's back at the sorting office but it's here ;D) along with my Central Michigan Uni welcome pack. And here I swore I was done being a student. ;D Lol! ;D

Georgy, omg 7 hours! Sheesh, that's horrific. My new appointment is for 9.15am. Fingers crossed I'll be outa' there a wee bit quicker than that. :-\ :D

Andy, guess I won't see you on the 13th..... but I'm sure it won't be long before a fab Disney Dork Day. ;D Lol. ;D

Laura, are you gonna try for an earlier appointment?

Jane, good luck at the interview. If it's anything like the interviews here in the UK, it sounds alot scarier than it actually is. ;) Let us know how you get on.

I'm just so happy at the mo. Visa appointment booked, flight booked, finishing work on friday. No more hitches or waiting (hopefully :-\ ;D)! Yay! Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo so excited! ;D ;D ;D

Nice to have a bit more breathing space! Will no doubt see you over there :) Will be happier when my DS-2019 arrives...!

I think you keep getting Scottish dudes as they have a call centre in Scotland...:)

    Indeed. :)

I am now thouroughly convinced you are right. And I'm probably calling a mile down the road and paying premium rates for the priviledge. ::) ;D

If you look at the envelope the letter notifying appointment came from, it is a Glasgow address.

The premium rate is indeed annoying!

Seriously? [*goes to rummage for the envelope*]

Ok. I was kidding when I said a mile. It's actually about 5 mins walk from my flat!   ::) ;D Unbelievable. ;D

    Laura, it's in Charing Cross!

Charing Cross??? ???I could drive there in 20 minutes!!!

I may try and call tomorrow and see if I can get an earlier appointment. Like you Ona would just like a little more breathing space! It appears that as I am applying for a J-1 visa I can fill out the DS-156 form online and that gets you quicker appointment at the Embassy (or so they say!). I did it last night but it's a bit weird because you just fill it out then print it but they don't have an place to ask you which Embassy you want to go to! ??? I haven't heard anything yet so maybe will call tomorrow and see if someone can clear that up for me!!

    Laura. ;D

i dont know how it is in england but i had my appointment on friday and ion saturday i had my passport back in the mail. if you fill out the DS online it helps them to work on your paperwork faster cause you have a bar code and everything is saved already in the system

I fly out on the 8th August from the UK and i still haven't had my paper work through about my visa. I asked Yummy jobs and they said that i need to wait for all my papers to come through which they will send through about 1 month - 6 weeks before you fly out.
    Hope this helps

I think im lucky.. my choice of interview was Belfast or.. wait that was it belfast.. but thats fine i live in belfast. To the people coming here from scotland or england... i would strongly reccomend making it a mini trip.. take in some sights.. sample the night life.. Spring and Airbrake or Stiff Kitten.. you have missed a few little things like the continetal market.. but there is always st georges market on a saturday afternoon..

anyway if you havent been here enjoy your time here..

damn i should work for the ni tourist board

Some advice needed! I'm going to Belfast for a visa appointment on the 21st June. Flying from Glasgow. I'm only going for the day. There is a flight back at 3.15pm from City of Belfast (George Best Airport), my appointment is at 10.15am. Would this leave me enough time to have my appointment and get back to the airport to catch the flight back? ???

Only other option is a 9pm flight at night but don't really want to hang about that long (no offence to Nothern Irish people but been to Belfast quite a few times before!) as it's my sister's birthday that day and would like to get home to go out for dinner!

    Laura. ;D
