Thanks guys! I wasn't thinking of taking down a full sized DVD player with me,hehe Just a mini travel sized one. I hate to sound like such a nerd but I'm a film student and I really enjoy watching films. But I know there will be plenty of other things to do and besides I'm only there for a year, I can watch movies at home
That makes sense Jo - im the same with music, couldnt go a year without having something to play songs on! Ur arriving same day as me June 14th! xxx
well as for me, i think as long as we have fox and wb on the tv i'll probably be ok. but must say id like a dvd player for my oc dvds...but seems a waste of money for just one programme!haha marie, i wish i hadnt bought that dvd on ebay now! gotta wait so long to find out what happens now...stress! lol xxx

You never know Linz - guys will be guys! Would be funny if they could get extension cables and get it to work outside and there they are by the pool playing x box! Linz u can always watch OC dvds on mine or Sara's laptop im sure! Or u maybe be lucky enougth to end up in a flat with dvd player... Does anyone know what channels we get? I want mtv more than anything cos it was fantastic hangover tv last yr - love Real world, road rules etc! And then like Linz said i want WB etc... Tho doubt i'll be watching much tv but can def make the exception for OC and mtv! Jo - See you in Florida - i guess we'll all be going to traditions at disney uni together! Cant wait to meet everyone... xxx
Lindsey is SO right, you guys are insane LOL I used to watch lots of dvds and tv shows before I went to Florida and then during the year I probably watched a total of 10 hours of TV and that was "Blind Date" which I sometimes watched with my roomie... PS and XBox are fun though ( especially with a group of people ). One of my friends had a PS and I remember one time we played Tony Hawk and I just couldn't quit, so I played until 5 in the morning while everyone else was asleep LOL It's a lot of fun, but still you shouldn't worry too much about dvd players and tv stations. You gonna be living in Florida with free entrance to Disney at all times...there are so many beaches only a short drive away and you will have parties and go on trips and get tanned. There are too many great things you would regret to miss! Julia
my point exactly julia!! marie aw thank thats so sweet! the only thing i really dont wanna miss out there's the oc, everything else i can live without! xxx
Hey guys As far as tv/dvd, a lot of apartments have at least a tv. We had everything when I moved in, but after a month my Mexican roomate left and took her tv and dvd player. We all chipped in and got a tv for $90 from Target, and our new roomate brought her dvd player. The apartments tend to be full of random things from previous years, we don't know where a lot of our stuff came from. There are exceptions to this though, as a few of the guys in our arrival group ended up in an apartment where all four of them were new, so they had to buy all of that stuff. But chances are if you don't have something you'll know someone who does, you're rarely alone here anyway! Let me know if you guys have any other questions about the apartments. Jo - I've been trying to email you but my hotmail is being stupid, can't wait to see you! Christa
CHRISTA!!! How's Walt Disney World?! I'm getting so excited! I had a 321 area code on my phone the other day, strange eh? So I guess its luck of the draw. Do people come and go a lot? Jo
It really depends on the amount of people you move in with. If you are in a 4 people apt. it's really cozy and family-like. You live with each other for a long time ( I lived with two of my roomies for 10 months and we became such close friends ) and it really becomes your home. If you live in a 8 people apt. there is lots of "come and go". All of them moved in at different times, so after a short period someone will leave and others will follow. It can be quite fun, too, cause you will meet so many different people and nationalities. You have to realize that almost every week there are new arrivals and so it will be the same at work. You will see many people come and go. It's really exciting in the beginning and very painful in the end. Julia
I can understand that...i know what it is like...that happened to me at my last job. It is amazing how fast you grrow attached to people and how fast the time goes
Yeah, time flies at Disney. You have to make sure to live it up to the fullest, cause you will never have such a life again. It's great and you do get attached so fast. It's the best part about it, you will make friends for a lifetime! Julia
dancing queen... that sounds like how it was when i was working in france last summer every few weeks someone left, got transferred sites or finished their contract... it was like being on big brother! xxx
Marie- I know! At first you don't really notice cause you are new and you don't know that many people anyways. But when you have been down in Florida for 6 months you have found your friends and you will know many people who came some months before and after you. The big roll starts and your first friend is gonna throw a leaving party. At the end I couldn't stand those parties anymore. It's so sad and everyone that goes takes a little piece of you with them.
