i got an interview 23rd february in Manchester i'm really nervous as i've never been to one of these things before .. could anybody shed some information on what kinda things happens at these interviews? like what kinda things are they looking for or will they ask? sorry to all those that didn't get the response they wanted. If you're looking for any other summer job ideas, there is always working in europe with KeyCamp, they're suppose to be really good. Working in France to italy to finland etc .. would be pretty cool, it's still my back up plan if this interview goes upside down.
Congratulations! Yeah, I have never got this far before so I have no idea what to expect either! Has anyone here been to a Disney F2F interview? Also, will we get a response email confirming our place at the interview? I emailed Becky to reserve my place, I just want to make sure YJ got my reply before I start arranging flights :-\ I worry too much
Ophelia - I'm gonna do BUNAC this summer too. Gonna do Work America I think, just trying to figure out a couple of bits first. Xx
I also received an email stating that I am 'still being considered' for an interview and will know by the 7th of February. There was an interesting final paragraph in the email which stated that, in the event of being turned down for a face-to-face interview for the Universal program, I would be automatically invited to a face-to-face interview for an alternative program e.g. Six Flags theme parks or other resorts.
I'm in my last year at uni so I won't qualify for the visa which means this year was really the last time I could go. Bunac is a company who sponsers you for the j1 visa with their american partner so you can work anywhere in the USA for up to 4 months. They also do camp america.
Tbh I had already planned on doing the Work america program instead of Universal before the telephone interview. I just kinda wanted to see whether I could technically get it which might have been a bit selfish because I could have "stolen" a spot at the face to face interview from someone else so it's probably good I didnt make it. Basically the place I work at has a few branches in the US and I already talked to my boss about transferring there for the summer. It would be either Boston, New York, or Chicago which will probably be somewhat more exciting since I've already done a summer at Disney in Florida. At Bunac is cheaper too.
I've been looking at Bunac and it actually looks pretty good, they're doing a presentation in Leeds on Tuesday so i might go I really want Universal though so fingers crossed I get an interview for that still =']
Has anyone still waiting heard anything yet?? I dont know about anyone else. but this has been the longest 4 days of my life!! I got in touch with Yummy to find out whats actually happening and they emailed back saying that they have filled the spaces they were given by Universal and are trying to request more for those who are waiting because they had so many applicants. So, lets hope Universal say yes!! Good Luck to those who are waiting and Congrats to those who already have an interview. XX
I'm one of the people still waiting and I also haven't heard anything yet. I will be very disappointed if i don't get an interview with universal, but at least i'll have the cushion of having an interview for something else instead.
I'm waiting too, it's been killing me, it's like playing the waiting game all over again! lol I'm going out tonight and if they decide to send the emails out at 10pm again then i'll have to just nab someones phone so i can check my emails Good Luck everyone!
hmm i guess i will just haveto wait till i get home again like last time I'm off out now, good luck everyone!
"Once again, thank you for the effort you have put into your application so far and we look forward to considering you for one of our alternative summer 2012 opportunities!" lol.
Didn't get an interview, unfortunately Might take them up on the offer for the six flags interview though. Any of the other maybes have any luck? Good luck to everyone who's got an interview!
I didn't get an interview either! And unfortunately none of the 3 alternatives they've offered seem to suit me! The first one, which is in Six Flags Fiesta Texas, is to be a lifeguard, which is a big no-no for me as i'm not a strong swimmer. The second one, which is in Six Flags New England, starts in May, which is no good as my university exam period is then! And finally, even though I can technically do Mission Point Resort in Michigan, it looks like a really run down and drab place. I'm disappointed, but at least I have a plan B: Volunteer USA with Bunac - which I've already been confirmed onto! So smoke that, Yummy Jobs!
Yknow I haven't actually checked the things they've sent us yet but just reading what you've written has confirmed that I can't do them either. lol oh well I'm checking out the Work in Canada with Bunac too
hey, has anyone got the Universal application form separate to the AAG and yummy jobs form, the "1) Completed Universal Orlando® Resort application form – You will receive this in a separate communication from Nick@yummyjobs.com in the coming days" i still haven't got it, just wondering if nick's started e-mailing it to anyone yet?
Hey! I didn't know this forum had been set up! Yummy Jobs sent this after that email: Following on from previous communication we would like to inform you that the Yummy Jobs Team will now be providing you with the additional Universal Orlando application documents during the final interview presentation. So we fill in the forms when we get there Have you been able to fill in the other form? They said we need to fill in the last page all typed, but some lines won't let you type ???
I haven't been able to type some bits in either, so I just copied the layout into Word and have typed it up myself, it doesn't look to far off what it looks like on the form.
