I'm from Wales, so if I get f2f I have to travel about 2 hours which isn't bad... but I've never been to London, so navigating the tube on my own should be... er... an experience?!
I only live about half an hour away from Victoria Station, but it would take me longer depending on where the interviews are held. Luckily I'm an underground pro so the tube is no problem for me
Well thats it just over and I think it went terribly!!! :'( I'm Scottish and I spoke too fast ... i'm normally quite clear and well spoken but i think a broad Scots accent came out. For those that still have theirs tho Hannah is lovely and very positive xx
Don't worry, I'm sure they're expecting people to be nervous & for it to affect how they speak! If you weren't completely calm and clear then it would sound like you didn't want this much! I'm sure it went GREAT! x
I'm so gutted! because I was prepared for every question but just didnt put anything across well. She was really positive even tho I must've sounded like an idiot but I dont want to read too much into what she said lol cos I know its what she prob says to everyone xx
Well I don't think you'd wanna sound TOO prepared, so its prob great that you didn't sound like you were just reading off a piece of paper or something And I doubt she would have been really positive if you'd not done very well- she would have just been polite I expect! x
Yea I totally agree, Hannah was like that with me too, and I was gabbling away like there's no tomorrow!! They do a really good job of making you feel at ease and encouraging answers from you! Karen i really wouldn't worry, the phone interviews are just a way of scaling down the competition, i.e. finding out if people are old enough or if they are not suitable (maybe if they have tattoo's and stuff). I'm certain they would not be allowed to discriminate against your Scottish accent!!
Hopefully I've just over reacted lol! got to try put it to back of my mind for the next 2-3 weeks! If I do get through to the next stage tho I hope its sooner rather than later cos can get cheap flights to London for September at the moment xx
are the F2Fs in sept? if so, (and if i've gotten through!!! now that's a big if) i hope it's in early september before i go back to uni...aber to london would NOT be a fun trip!
I go on hols 8th-22nd Sept so I'm PRAYING they're not in between those dates! I know in all likelihood they are, but when I sent off my CV in June I had noo idea how all this worked :S Maybe if they are and I get through they'll let me come to the next set of interviews? For the July departure?? ??? Good luck to everyone!! I hope we all get through!
Hey Karen I was the same i felt like I talked too fast and all I prepared for went up the wall. But hey - your gona be nervous when its something you really really want. I so hope we al get through to the next stage xxx
woo i survived mine ;D despite michelle having to ring 4 times and then try my home number, because for some reason my phone wouldn't let me speak *throws phone out the window* the only thing is she put merch down as my first choice, although i wanted food and bev, because she said they'd look for people with food and bev experience. she was really sweet and said i'd done really well. good luck everyone who hasn't had theirs yet, it's nothing to fret over. ok, i'm going to go and wait by my emails for the next month....
you stayed in skipton? WHY GOD WHY?! ahhh my phone interview is thursday, I'm so damn excited/nervous/scared/swotting up.
So just to help me a little bit. y'know prepare for every eventuality. I have to be prepared to speak about 1. My home town and how much i love it! 2. how i get on with other people in a shared house etc. 3. passports and such? 4. past work and stuff? 5. random disney chat? the last time i had a phone interview i had to describe what i thought was a traditional british meal. i fluffed it because i was distracted and shopping :/ If she asks that question i even have an answer prepared for that
yeh thats exactly the stuff i got asked. they also might ask how you'd cope with the heat and long hours. and they'll probably ask you why you want to work there, whats driving you to apply. haha i spoke about sunday roasts and yorkshire puddings in mine funnily enough!!! but then with me it ALWAYS comes down to food. Don't worry, and try not to get thrown is something comes up you're not expecting. some of the best answers are ones off the top of your head =] you'll do great. best of luck!!! 8)
well if they ask about long hours and working heat then i have that fully sussed too, i did that last year whilst i was working as a holiday rep in spain. GRHDFHREIFH GIVE ME THIS JOB!
I just want to keep saying 'well I worked in WDW before...I know what it's like!' Haha. A roast is definitely British...and I love them so that helps haha! The only question I'm stuck on is why I want to work for Disney...I can't just say 'because it's disney!' Argh....Oh well I'm sure I'll think of something...I'm currently running through what I'm going to say right now!
