When i went last year there was a coach that picked us up from Seaworld and took us there, then dropped us back at Seaworld at the end of the day :)

Transport seems really good around Orlando!

Yeah I think I did! The one that cost around £150? The whole thing confused me in the end as there are so many possibilities, so I thought I'd be better just to get cover for the first 4 months and if I don't like the Disney insurance, when I'm there, then I think STA said that I could extent my insurance whilst I'm out there? I'm sure that the Disney one will be fine and $10 isn't that much a week.
    ;D

Question for Grooveyem, or anyone else already working in the UK Pavillion.........what are the tips like in F&B?

Dave, tips are good from what I've heard, but you can't go into service for your first 3 months anyway. Service is stressful, whereas podium is a doss, you've got to decide whether you want the money or the hassle, because it's so hard to get into. You first have to learn everthing...all your menu, whats in what, all the pub blends, speciality coffees, serving times, cocktails etc and you do your pre-service test which is a written test. If you pass that you then have to fully speil a dish to the managers and a chef. Then you go into food running for 3 weeks where you do a day in the kitchen and a day on the bar and the rest is 10 hour shifts running food in and out. Then I think you do another written test, but I'm not sure, then you do your service test where you have a managers table and a guest table to serve. If you pass all that, you go into service and get tips. If you fail twice, you're back on podium for the rest of your programme.

Katlou, I took just 1 big suitcase and a holdall thing in my hand luggage. There's a couple of things at home I wish I'd brought, but you can always get stuff out here (having said that...the clothes aren't that great...they really need to discover Primark out here haha). I figured that I'd pick up a load of stuff over the year, so wouldn't bring too much to start with.

Anything else guys, I'll be happy to help :) I know I had a million questions before I came out xx

thanks, that's sooo helpful. I think I'm going to see what packing one is like, and then see if I need two. was thinking of taking duvet cover and pillow out so I don't need to buy when I get there! Also, worried that it might start getting a bit colder when I'm there so need to think about some layers!! x x

Thanks grooveyem! Sounds harsh.....but fair i guess theres a lot of competition, and i would prefer a challenge. Think i may get bored if i was on the same podium for 12 months lol!

I have a couple more questions :) your going to regret saying this lol!!.....

Do all the CRP's/ICP'sgo clubbing a lot? Or do they just tend to stay in the complexes and have partys?......I want to explore all the clubs and bars in Orlando!

Is Premium Outlets walking distance from the commons?

What are the things you wish you'd brought, if you don't mind me asking? I don't want to make the mistake of leaving stuff behind and then kicking ymself for a year for not having it.
In fact, today, I left my phone at home, and now I'm at work. I feel like I am missing a limb. And I have only got to cope for another 6 hours and 35 minutes without it...
    But who's counting.
Anyway, very exciting news, I am officially booking my flight today...handing over money and everything lol.
    xx

P.S I have just had a panic attack upon finding that there isn't a Nandos in Florida...someone please tell me I'm having a nightmare?

Nope, no Nando's in Florida (though if you get desperate, go on a weekend trip to Washington DC...there's one there!) You will find plenty of other places to eat though. I don't think there was a week that went past where I didn't eat out at least twice. And Disney are currently doing some restaurants at 40% off (usually at lunch) so it's always worth trying new things! That being said, Outback and iHop are first favourites ;)

I don't think there was much that I regretted not bringing. A few pairs of shoes maybe but I went without them ;) I took two suitcases, my laptop bag and a big handbag and came back with all that plus 3 extra suitcases (though in my defence Mum was flying home with me so she took up a little space ;) ) There were things I regretted taking though, like my straightners (because for some reason I didn't need them in Florida! I think I used them once) and a lot of my clothes. It turns out I probably wore everything a few times, when I should have taken less clothes and worn them all more! You'll buy stuff out there, and anything you forget you can probably buy out there too!

That's really useful to know! I think I might need my straighteners though...because you know that episode of friends where the humidity gets to Monica's hair...well, that's me!!!

I was talking to mum about clothes too, and she was like...we'll you'll be working most of the week anyway! Very true.

How cold did it get in winter? And what sort of clothes should I take for such instances? x x x

I know what you mean about clothes. Here I have a few but as I work shifts and stupid shifts at that I'm either in my uniform or in a a pair of PJ's! Would be interesting to know what clothes to take out there, swim wear etc.

Aww no Kat, that sucks about your hair, just don't get it braided like Monica though!! My hair is straight all the time
