Kim! I love the little moving across the screen thingy!!!

I've paid for my CRB, but only because I have loads of post-exams things to pay for so thought I'd get it out of the way. Also, the little red box on my yummy profile was just waiting to be pressed.

Just looking into flights now! x x

Sabrina have you checked the Documents section in your Yummy Jobs Profile? You should have loads of stuff in there!
I've not paid for my crb yet because I am still waiting for one to come back that was only done this month..apparently that might be transferrable!x

I wish my last one was transferable...but it runs out in October! Just booked my flights and health insurance... sent 20 mins on the phone gassing about Orlando and how the Disney is so much better than California!

I'm now officially skint...although technically my student loan just paid for me to go!!!

Oh well, better get back to my take-away exam paper...geographies of bodily fluids is not going to write itself (yeah...it IS that gross)

    I reserved my flight yesterday!
I am off on December 4th direct from Gatwick with British airways. I think it cost around £300 so I was pretty pleased about that! It's fully flexible too, which means I get one date change completely free and then it will cost £35 for each one after that. Also, if I cancell it for any reason I get £175 of my money back, which isn't bad considering most airline would take the lot. Anyway, I'll be out a few days early which gives me plenty of time to go and visit Universal Studios, so if you guys get a day off around then...
Kat, how much was your travel insurance? I might leave that a little while yet, I need to find a really good one to cover pre-existing conditions without costing the earth! Is anyone getting cover for the whole year or are people planning to get the Disney Insurance? I'm a bit confused.
I'm just in the process of trying to convince my old boss to give me back my second job at the bar I was working at so that I can get all of the financial commintments out of the way, I don't want to run out of money, especially since I am going on holiday in less than 5 weeks time.
It's all pretty scary really, I had no idea there would be so much to do, and really not that much time to do it in. I have about 7 months to go before I depart, and I know it's just going to fly! I mean really, when we consider that we were at F2F 3 months ago now, it's scary how quickly it's gone.
Anyway, I hope my ramblings have at least kept some of you entertained. It has saved me from at least 5 minutes of 'BREEAM- Smart Waste for a Greener Earth' related boredom.
    I love my job...
    xx

    Hey!

I got 12 months insurance- but it doesn't cover pre-existing, because she said that I can just get my thyroid medication before I go away (or get it sent over)...and it's unlikely that my thyroid will be the cause of another illness (she used the case of asthma as an example- so if you have asthma and you have an attack where you are hospitalised, you then won't be covered).

Cost was quite expensive (about £360- including the premium waver thingy) and I know I could have got £100 cheaper online, I just wanted to get it booked and make sure I was covered enough for my visa!!!

Red...I love your little thread being "change your date cos I'm a nervous flyer" lol...also, I'd say to the december people to book now as I ended up paying an extra £100 because of waiting to book it!

Does anyone know roughly how much the Disney Insurance costs once it kicks in? Do you think it is payable in one lump sum, or just weekly? ???

This whole Disney insurance is confusing me too Dave!

I've just gone for the 4 month insurance from STA then I'm planning on taking out the Disney insurance. I've read that it's possibly a weekly payment of maybe $6-$10. They take it directly out of your wages, along with Housing etc.

I doubt it's going to be much more expensive or cheaper than other insurances you'll find. Prob just quite average...hopefully!

I think i read that the disney insurance is about $10 a week too, so it pretty much works out the same as buying it for a full year before you go. I think im gonna buy mine for the year so it is out of the way.

Has anyone who was emailed a few weeks ago had a call from yummy yet?

    ;D

yo does anyone know how much a full year is with STA travel cause i got confused on the website??

tbh i have no clue what to do?

Hence why i have left it ;D

£360 full year STA but I got 10% discount (so £324) as I booked at same time as my flight with the yummy deal. But I paid £11 extra so I don't have to pay the first £100 up front myself should anything go wrong.

I decided full year because it'd be easier to extend if I wanted to travel and also is a health/travel insurance policy...bonus!!! x x x

oh and I think the disney insurance works out the same...just am in merch so won't be earning as much money for playing so would rather it didn't come out of my pay cheque...

my inner accountant has drawn up a spreadsheet so I can see how much this whole shebang is costing me (yes, you may call me a geek)!!!

All of you guys are so organised!! I've looked at flights but am now changing my mind about connecting... Haven't even started looking at the health insurance things. Having a few financial difficulties at the moment so I dont really know which where to turn... Think I may go for the full year insurance too as it seems like the easier option. Wouldnt want to get struck down ill in the days that the private cover finishes and Disney starts ... Knowing my luck something will happen lol.

Red I'm still up for going out earlier. Which flight have you added on?

Kat, have you got the Universal ticket yet? I looked at prices but was a little confused.

Im definatly going to get a Universal Annual Pass soon as i get there!

It works out really good value because its $109.00 for a day, and $229.99 for 12 months! It also says something about 'Florida Residents' discount? Im guessing this does apply to us.....does anyone know for sure?

Also....is anyone thinking about getting Seaworld/Aqautica Annual Pass? Im not sure because i know i prob wont go there that much, but thinking about the year as a whole....if you go just twice in 12 months, then it works out more expensive than the Annual Pass....hmmmm decisions decisions!

    ???

Yeah I know, does the Seaworld one cover Busch Gardens too? Might need to befriend someone with a car though...

Think we'll need to work out how much free time we're going to have first... x x

I'm defo planning on going to sea world and bush gardens but don't think I am going to get an anual pass as you really need a car to get there!! grrr i am going to miss driving I'm probably going to forget how lol!!!

I love Universal though defo has the better rides then disney but doen't have the magic i also can't WAIT for the wizzarding world of HARRY POTTER woop woop!!

I am on the British Airways flight departing December 4th. It's direct and has only cost £325, so it's really reasonable. If you are having financial problems, do what I am doing...I am putting a £75 deposit down on Friday and then the rest has to be paid by July 1st...gives you 7ish weeks to find the other £250. Have a chat with Rachel Moutter at STA Oxford, her number is 01865 792 800.
Regardless of whether or not we are on the same flight if you want to share a hotel I'll cover the cost of that :)
I think I am going to go with a full year's cover on the insurance, too. I will be in merch and not earning that much money, I don't want anything else to come out of my earnings! Luckily I'll be taking plenty of back-up funds with me. (Working 6 and a half days weeks until departure date...ouuuuch)
The good thing about this is that most things with the exception of the CRB don't have to be paid until alot closer to departure date, and we don't need to have insurance sorted out until we have an appointment with the Embassy for a visa.
Just realised how scared I am to be leaving home for a year. I guess everyone's in the same boat, I am a little worried that I will be a bit of a mess and miss home so much that I'll want to leave =/
Enough of my ramblings for now.
    Love to all!
Red (Who, by the end of the day, will be even redder...I love hair dye :D )
    xoxo
P.S My boss gave me my old job back! Yipee!
