Hi Guys thanks so much for the warm welcome!
I am probably going to fly out a day or two early to get over the jetlag and pick up the bits I'll need. I'm flying from gatwick as there is a direct BA flight for £241 one way...I'm already on it with the organisation!
I'm very excited, mixed with shocked and bloody terrified. (This is my hardcore world renowned honesty coming out!)
    Love to you all.
P.S I am a proper homey-mummas-girl, who has never lived more than about an hour's travel from home for any length of time, and I haven't ever really properly moved out. And I am scared a little. Please feel free to hold my hand. Thanks ever so. xxx

I'll hold your hand, don't worry. I think this will be big for everyone, so we'll just have to make it feel more homely! Still awaiting the further info from yummy though- I want it now so I can plan things before exams start proper.

PS the diss will be handed in as of 9 am tomorrow! woo! x x

Hey, really happy to hear all of you are getting offered positions, its going to be the best christmas/new year ever!

I am flying out the day before my start date, and staying in the Disney All Star Music resort, its only £49! Splitting the cost with 2 others so its going to be really cheap!

Also......does anybody know/think it might be worth getting an annual pass for Universal? Because for how much you pay to get in each day, times how much i will go over the course of the year lol.....thinking it may work out a good deal? Harry Potter!!!........... ;D

Christmas and New year will certainaly be exciting. Always wanted to spend it abroad and it Disney. Can't believe that I actually will. I think I'm going to get a flight out maybe the day before or on the day, but think I will have to connect in Newark just so I can use my travel ticket.

Red, you'll be fine. I'm leaving my bf of nearly 5 yrs at home, but he is supporting my decision.

Kat, I handed my Dissertation in yesterday! Boy did it feel good to get that out of the way, just 2 essays and 2 exams left then I can get real excited about Disney!!

How much are the Orlando Passes? Is anyone thinking of doing abit of travelling around the US whilst out there?! I really want to go to LA and Los Angeles, and Hawaii etc lol x

Oh and I can take orders for people that are out there before me and are desperately missing home comforts. I probably going to pay for an extra bag for the plane as I have too much stuff! x x

SO unbelievably excited about christmas (I was looking at some pictures of the christmas lights and events and stuff in the Disney parks, looks amazing!), and just next year in general. Its going to be awesome. Yea Red, no need to worry, Im sure most people (myself included!) feel pretty terrified going out there, exciting as it is, but youre not going to be on your own. Youve got your own little support group right here already! ;)
How did you find that ba flight? thats well cheap! I was just on the ba website and for a return the outward flight came up as around £250, but if I took away the return flight and searched for a single it was £700!! Cheapest thing i can find is still on sta.

How much are the yearly passes for universal? I did think that it might be worthwhile getting one, especially if other people are planning on it too. No point in me getting one if nobody else wants to go there, but sounds like I'll probably have some company! :)

Sabrina I really want to do some travelling while out there too, Ive only ever been to Orlando and mainly done the Disney/Universal stuff, so I'd like to see a bit more of America. I think that people do manage to get a bit of travelling in, in between working of course.

p.s. CONGRATULATIONS to Kat and Sabrina for handing in your dissertations!!! ;D Not much longer to go now.

Sophi, I'm glad someone else wants to go travelling. I've only been to New York and Buffalo for Niagara Falls/Ontatio for the Falls. We'll have to set up some trips. Jet Blue is a really good company to fly with in the US cheap and they provide onboard entertainment and free snacks, nothing like our low cost here!

Would be so cool to get an Orlando yearly ticket. I shall investigate into getting one :). Nearly only 7 months to go! That sure was a cheap ticket. I looked at BA too and it was around £700 for a single. Thinking return is the way forward.

Hehe thank you Sophi, sure is a good feeling.

I don't know what I'll be taking out, I dont have a lot of things, but I know I'll now need to start shopping for summer stuff. I think I'll be sending more things home than taking out, as everyone is already asking me to send home Cheetos, Jolly Ranchers, Lucky Charms and Double Stuff Oreos *droolll* Cannt wait for teh American Food! :D

Ok here is the secret www.statravel.co.uk
Flights are especially cheap if you are under 26 or a full time student.
They do flights from gatwick with BA and Virgin for well under £300, but in terms of flexibility BA are the best, even though they are a few pounds more expensive than Virgin.
I have never flown BA before, so I plan to book with them!
The only thing about STA is that you can't secure your flight with a deposit, but other than that, it's definitely the route to go down.
How is everyone getting on with the medical insurance thing?
    Love Muchly,
    Red
(P.S although most of you already know, I am nicknamed Red before of my hair colour. Which I will fight to keep...in one tone of another :p )

yay, another 2nd nov person!! congrats stu!!

So instead of starting my revision yesterday, which I fully intended to do, I started reading other threads about medical insurance. One of them (cant remember which one, sorry) was quite helpful and from that it looked like insure and go were quite a good company to go with, so Im thinking about that one at the moment. it seemed like they offered everything we need and at a pretty good price too, but I havent looked into all the fine print and compared everything yet.

Sabrina we will deffo have to arrange some trips!! Sounds like youre already quite in the know about some of the companies :)

ooh, what was in your disney pack?? Thats exciting!
    xx
