It looks amazing too! I haven't visited Universal in a while (my annual pass ran out in Febraury :( sad face) but I've was there when they were building it and it looks awesome! I wish I were there to see it, but I think it'll worth waiting until the crowds have died down and you don't have to queue for hours on end!

    Hey Guys!
For those who have booked flights who did you do it through and how much did it cost you :D
Am looking at booking in the next few days and so far it costs £140 cheaper to fly out on Oct 31st than Nov 2nd (my actual start date) you think i should just book that? :)

I guess you have to weigh up if the cost of the hotel will be less then flying out in November. I'm going out on my start date 7th september got a return BA direct for £490 with STA travel which i thought was a good deal! hope that helps :D

Yeah thats what am looking at to see, if the price of the hotel is less or equals the price of the Nov 2nd flight i think i'll go out 2 days early and settle in :) plus with any luck a wee seek into th parks! On Oct 31st its £406 with STA and on Nov 2nd its £547 with STA :s!

    What to do lol. x

Callum, is that online or have you called them (although I think it's the same)?? I paid 411 for mine with STA (booked over the phone) for oct 19th! That was a single though, incase I go travelling afterwards!

If those are the price differences maybe worthwhile looking into hotel room prices? Which airport are you travelling from? x x

Thats online not called them yet!
I just want a single as i don't know when i'll be coming back yet either, but the price of a single was much more than a return :s Stupid! So thought i might aswell get a return then try and move it nearer the time (i can't get a return past April anyway so would def have to change it). Am travelling from Glasgow but the last 2 times i have been i have had to transfer at Gatwick, but think STA staid Amsterdam this time :s. Think it will work out the same getting a hotel prob :s x

cool! If you email the person they (yummy) tell you to call she can give you all the different quotes/prices. My view was that Disney would be giving us the money to return based on what we paid to get there so it really only work out at about £200 each way...makes me feel a little better...

Luckily I live 10 mins from Gatwick so don't have to worry about connecting or anything. I think they have to do connections based on flight times and stuff?

I'm going to have spent so much before even getting there :-s

Just had my phone call with hannah...I have lots of info written on a piece of paper now!
Right, now I better get back to my second to last day of revision ever!!!!! x x x

You can't have a return date more than a year in advance depending on the type of ticket (the things you learn on an airfares and ticketing course, eh? haha). When I went out last February I got a one way ticket half price on expedia. You just really have to shop around. And of course, the sooner you get to the date, the higher the prices go!

That's what I did on my first program! On the way back I got a return flight and called up Virgin when I got back and they refunded one half! It really depends on who you fly with and what their terms and conditions are at the time because they change.

Yeah, Disney will give you your airfare back provided you complete your program. When you get there, in one of the housing meetings you have to take your ticket (e-ticket or otherwise, so don't throw them away!) and work out what you'll get paid back at the current exchange rate. That way you'll know what you get at the end!

Typically if you book a complete flight from the UK to the US then the airline will work out connections. You're supposed to have at least and hour and half from when your flight lands until your next one takes off. Of course, if you organise each flight seperately then this might not happen!

And where abouts near Gatwick? I live in Caterham :D

I live in a teeny weeny village called colgate halfway between horsham and crawley (just of the pease pottage services on the M23) so not far down the road from you...just the other side of Gatwick!!!

You have so much good information! Please keep posting on our thread to help us out! And I hope you get to come out and do it all again while we're there too!!

ps- Happy birthday for tomorrow lucy!!!

Wow guys, your flights seem really expensive! Mine is only one way, but it's a BA direct and its £325.
So, if I get there and something terrible happens, like I get horribly home sick, it's tough luck and I am stuck. Haha.
So what is everyone up to this weekend? I get to work tonight, tomorrow night AND sunday night, even though I have been at work all week. Lucky me.
    xx
