Haha Yeh I know Abi my BIG diet starts tomorrow aswell, its gonna be a killer so I am cramming in all the good xmas food in!hehe

Ah i'm sure you'll have the best time anyway without drink, its gonna b sooo good - there is so much to do out there. Nah neither of us have done any lifeguard work - how about you two?

hehe I didn't realise we could wear bikini's aswell just thought we could only wear costumes, nice one though cos least are stomachs will be nice a brown - gonna have to do loads of sit ups now!hehe

In Florida, it's illegal to sing in a public place whilst wearing a swimming costume!!
Just so you're clued up and don't get arrested out there

hey everyone,

gemma- yeh weve both worked as lifeguards for nearly for years now.
sara- were both doing leisure events management with tourism - its called the micky mouse course cos its that easy hahaha

jason phoned today and i am flying out on the 31st may from gatwick. is anyone else on that flight?

thanks for letting me know about not singin in public whilst at work, mind you if i did id probably clear the water parks....

haha great stuff, sounds like a good course. my course is solid really, its travel & tourism management, 1st year was a piece of cake,typical when i got good marks & they don't count now they do the works solid & it stressful haha. i need a year to recover from it.

i'm sure there's someone else flying out 31st may as well. You lucky thing being there 21 days before me!

i take it your doing the year long placement. i wanted to stay for a year but i only really wanted to do lifeguarding and you cant do that for a year..
have you recived anything through the post yet? i havnt...
what uni are u at?

 

yeah i'm doing the year long placement. to be honest i didn't know about the program you're doing until people at the interviews started to appear on here telling people. But yeah i'm doing it as a placement in my course. At derby uni, i live local to derby so has saved me a few £ with stayin at home as well as continuing to work at alton towers, so can't complain!

I'm Kerry, from Co.Armagh Northern Ireland and studying consumer studies (year2) at university of ulster, coleraine. Flying out of belfast on June 14th. Theres about 4 or 5 from my uni going, but all are flying out different dates, apart from my friend Dermot who i'll be flying out with...which is cool...a bit about me....mmmm...well im 19 and it will be my birthday about 2 weeks after i arrive, so i think i'll have my 20th and 21st birthdays in Florida if i stay on to travel for a year.

Really looking forward to spending a year out in Florida, feels like a dream half the time!!!crazy! i teach piano on saturdays, which wil be hard to leave cuz its a cool wee job, Feel bad leavin the little souls for a year, but these things happen. Love shopping...what us girls do best really...socialising and whatevers going!!

Gotta head on think 13 going on 30 is being played in living room!! but looking forward to meetin yas all soon....very soon!!!

Sara thanks for the reassurance - i was searching my post when i cameback for the pack but i guess yummy are prob still waiting for the police forms and/or r prob busy catching up on work from the hols! Your photo showed up - i will post one at some point - so we can all put faces to names! Tho all mine r photos of me at parties as i dont have a digital camera so they r ones friends have sent! Oh dear will have to find one where i look relatively sober! apologies in advance!

Michelle u must be soooo excited youve hardly got much of a wait left at all!

Hi Everyone,

This is weird, i have not been on these boards since i came out here in June 2004 and thought i would check them out as i am having a quiet night in (not normal). Just wanted to put all your minds at rest as i remember exactly what it is like before you come out. Trust me though you are all going to have to time of your life. It does fly by though and i cannot believe i am going home in June, sucks so bad! You will meet so many new friends you are guaranteed to have for the rest of your life and will enjoy the fullest social life you have ever experienced. If anyone has any question and needs some advise feel free to email me, not sure i will be able to answer them all but i will give it a go.

Will be good to meet those of you who arrive before 15th June and for those arrive later, make the most of your time here and prepare to have the best year of your life!
