Have a look at the info on the yj website, seems like you have to have been at a certain uni to be able to take part (theres a list on there) and its for under grads so does that mean you have to do it before you graduate from uni in the uk? (and do it as an extra placement year?)

ok :), I don't think you have to have been to a specific uk uni, but need to have a BA/Bsc in hospitality/management/business? You do the new one after you graduate I think...just got an email from Disney about it...don't know why though, they should know I'm crp-ing.

    How's the wait? Hope all your dreams happen :) x x x

Hey guys well done for all applying :) i wish u all luck.

Whats the application like? For those of you who are applying now, when are you able to start in 2011?
As im desperate to apply asap but i cant start until Novemeber 2011 as my graduation is in Novemeber next year and obvs dont want to miss it lol. So im not sure when to apply! Please help meeee. I figure if i wait until the next appliaction opening it wont be for another year is that correct? And also have any of u ever worked in a theme park before, would that be an advantage?

Sorry for all the questions x

There are apps. in Jan too, for positions late 2011- I applied in Jan this year, maybe wait until then? Don't worry, I was like you this time last year- should I apply now or wait etc etc x x

You could apply now but set your start date to Nov 2011. That way (if successful) you'll at least get an idea of what the application process is like, and they'll know you can't go until late in 2011 and won't give a start date until then, and you'd be ready to try again in January if unsuccessful. Or, you could wait until Jan to apply for dates that you'll actually be available for. It's really all up to you. Both options are perfectly viable though!

We had our interviews in feb, and my position was offered in April (after 2 months on the waiting list), so it gives you enough time to get yourself sorted! Most people with positions oct/nov/dec had to wait a bit though, so I'd say apply Jan for these start dates.

Your best bet is probably to email yummy and ask. They're so helpful! x x

if you cant go over untill november 2011 you should really wait untill jan 2011 to apply - positions for this autumns applications are for start dates between february 2011 - august 2011 ..... during the interview (face to face) you have to inform them of the first date you would be able to go over from, if you put down november 2011 your application will at best be put on the waitlist and then more than likely be pulled and youl be asked to reapply in january........ there just doesnt seem much point in putting yourself through this application process now if you know that you really cant go untill november next year!

as for the question about when you find out if you have got a job....

if your application is successful you will either a) be offered a job with a start date and that date will usually be after that date you stated you could go from during the interview (so for example when i went i said the 1st of march and my offer came in for april 24th) or your application will be placed on the wait list - you can be offerd a job at anytime whilst in the waitlist, you may get a call after a week or two or after a few months! the longest they will keep you on the waitlist tho is 6 months, and if you havent been offered anything they will ask you to reapply again during the next application process if you still want to try for a job.

Yeah i totally agree, i wish i was able to apply now as i finish uni june 2011, but have to wait until November for my graduation! silly really!
So it means i really cant start until after as you cant get holiday time off can you? Of course this is only assuming id even be lucky enough to get offered a position.

Thank you for your help Jackson2411.. random question i saw you in a different thread, where you were saying your cv is long, how many pages is yours? As im trying to cut mine down to just 2 pages but have had to leave a couple of jobs out.

if you wanted to come back to the UK for your graduation you would have to take maybe 3 or 4 days off work at the very least i guess? the only way of getting time off is either giving shifts away to someone else whos willing to pick them up or calling in sick and adding 3 sick days onto your normal 2 days off (giving you a full 5 days off) but if anyone found out you werent sick youd more thank likely be terminated and sent home anyway! you have to have been there 9 months before you can book actual holidays.

my CV isnt that long, 2 A4 pages - it just lists the jobs ive had and basic info about each one (main duties and responsibilities etc) my cover letter tho was pretty long (ive done the program before tho and as im re-applying the yummy jobs team told me that id have to really explain why i feel that i should get the chance to go back again - so ive written alot about my lastprogram and what id hope to achieve on a second program. To be honest i think everyone gets kinda overly stressed about the CV/covering letter etc ------ everyone is different, has different experience and different reasons for applying so you CV etc is going to be unique to you and therefore different in length and style to everyone else, and thats a good thing!!!! can you imagine how bored they would get seeing the same type of letter?! ;)

Thanks! I had a little bit of experience, working in a shop at 6th form and my uni library for 2 hours a week. Other than that I just emphasised other things that I've done, like volunteering and sports teams- and they seemed to like it.

If you don't graduate until Nov, maybe you could do the summer ICP in between? I know someone who did that! Or wait until Jan- I found out about CRP this time last year but waited until Jan as I knew I'd get a more convenient start date! x x x
