Hello budding Cultural Representatives!

I'm Adam and I'm going out in March. A few people have been asking for some help/advice when applying and such. So I've actually put together an entire advice section on my blog to hopefully give you a helping hand while you're getting ready. Quick question did you write a cover letter or put that information in the motivation box? This is my 3rd time applying and have applied using a cover letter the first and the motivation box the second, so I was just wondering in your opinion which is better? Thanks!

 

Hello! I actually didn't write a cover letter, the thought never even crossed my mind when I was applying. But I know people who got through that both did and didn't write a cover letter so it's not a deciding element, just a matter of preference I suppose.

As pre-mentioned on the advice page, the motivation question is a really good one! There were a few people who got feedback saying that they needed to work on their motivation for applying. If you love disney, make sure they know about it there

Just thought i'd say that i was on the opportunity list for 6 months before I got a date, there was quite a few of us who had to wait that long, I go July 23rd and applied in December 2011! So don't think that just because you're on that list you will need to apply again, it pretty much means that they want you, they just don't have a date for you yet, so don't give up hope! People get called to go all the time. Stay postitve it can and does happen!! Good luck!!

i'm from scotland, so if there's anyone else applying from up here, let me know! it's long way to travel on my own
I applied in the last round and got through to the group stages but could'nt make it due to work which was gutting!
Yummy just announced on Facebook that they've opened applications again! so i've applied (fingers crossed!)

"The Yummy Jobs Team is delighted to announce that applications for the Disney International Programs - Cultural Representative Program are now open for candidates from the UK.

Applications will close at 5pm UK time on the 8th February 2013.

Find out what it is like to be a part of the UK food and beverage team by watching the following video.

Pre-screen interviews will take place week commencing 18th February and final interviews will take place in March 2013.

Hey guys, do they open applications again later this year, do you know?

 

Sorry, don't know about that one... we were told at interviews that they would reopen the applications in the spring (ie Spring 2013... march or april time) so they may do or they may not.

 

I'm guessing they will be open again within the next 6 months again

 

Dreams do come true and I hope yours do to!

Ahh I see, I was just wondering if they usually hold 2 rounds each year?

 

Its completely random it seems, they react more to supply and demand rather than specific dates. In the last couple of weeks alone we've had a few people turn down their places (and they've had an arrival date for months and months) or not be able to go, which has taken people off the opportunity list so they need to start building their bank of staff again!
