Oooo Yummy Jobs have posted a screen shot of their new website on Facebook - liking the look of this "Join our community" thing! (Although maybe it's a secret plan so they can keep tabs on us and see what we are saying )
Dang you're right, that preview does make it seem more up to date! If I'm going to be honest, when I first went on the YummyJobs website, it didn't look as legit as I thought it would be! Being that it is the gateway to the ICP and all but I'm excited for the relaunch! Especially as that means the applications will be coming up imminently
I'm even more excited now that its only a month away, now that i'm working hoping time will fly!!! i'm pretty sure once we have all submitted our applications, we'll be so counting down the days till the application closing date/ Interview confirmation. this is going to be the longest waiting game of my life I'm so impatient :-[
I'm struggling with the waiting already, so god knows what i'm going to be like once I actually apply
Seriously, I think we're all impatient, especially with an opportunity this massive it's a pretty freaking exciting prospect!!! Just keep venting your anxiety on here, we'll help as much as possible!
Does anyone have any last tips for the cv aspect, what has everyone done to make it stand out for the recruiters? I've just completely re-tailored my cv to disney standards really, so focused on my customer service experience and tried to link this to what I believe disney would be looking for etc. Worried i'm going to miss out something important :-\
I think the cover letter is an essential part to standing out, so try to convey your personality as much as possible! But I did exactly the same, harping on about my customer service experience In all honesty, you should be fine! If you do feel too uneasy, I can look over yours if you want! I don't mind at all
Haha, yummy jobs my have to start screening their calls as i see myself calling in quite frequently to enquire about my application ;D There's been mixed comments about how long the CV should be is it deffo two pages without the cover letter or two pages with the cover letter ???
The cover letter is a separate thing from the CV so the CV itself is 2 pages, and the cover letter is an addition page. SO glad about that because there's no way in hell my CV could fit on one page! : haha! As for standing out, not really much advice I can offer there as i'm worried about the same thing! To be honest, no-one really knows what they are looking for in terms of people standing out, so youve just got to produce something you are happy with, and then that's that! This time next month, we'll have applied! HOW SCARY IS THAT?!
Thanks, I appreciate that However I'm still constantly changing it about and re-editing it ,so feel like I can't send it to anybody until I'm 100% happy with it It's a vicious circle! Can't wait till applications open so I can just forget about it. I think I'm stressing over it so much because I constantly hear how they knock out around 1000 applicants or something at this stage :-\ I really don't get how they can do that cause surely everyone writes pretty much the same thing?! Back to the cover letter, think I've asked this before but has everyone decided what they're going to do? Are they gonna attach it as a separate page on the cv itself, or just paste it in the motivation box? I've read on loads of current and past ICP's that they pasted it in the box so I'm thinking of doing that, but really not sure...
I am attaching it to the CV, just to make it easier I believe earlier on that one of us e-mailed Yummy Jobs, and asked about the cover letter/motivation box. If I'm remembering correctly, Yummy Jobs said that the motivation box can just be a shortened and summarised version of your cover letter!
Yep, it was me! Yummy Jobs said that cover letters should be attached to the CV and uploaded as one document, and in the motivation box, you write a summary of the cover letter ;D
Hello! I'm Charlotte and I'm new on here but I'm applying for summer of 2014 from the UK! I'm super excited ^.^
On a side note - I've just looked at flights with Virgin - a one-way flight to Orlando on 1st June 2014 is almost £900!!
Might have to start saving now just in case I get accepted! However I did see flights for £400/£500 but I don't know what date the flight is :/
I'm hoping that if I get accepted, my student finance grant will cover a good deal of the costs Plus, I think i'm able to use my air-miles for a free flight (I seem to have accumulated about 48000!) although i'd still have to pay about £200 in tax/fees, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than £900! To be honest, I don't care about the cost though - i'd find a way around it, i just REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get there!! ;D :
Wow, £900 for one-way. I got a return for €850 with Delta Airlines last June. If anyone is looking for the best price of flights try - http://www.skyscanner.ie/
Yeah I'm hoping that too. Lucky you with all those air miles! Gimme some hahaaa yeah the cost will sort itself - working at Disney and getting free admission to the parks is so so worth it! Just got to get accepted first, eeek, so excited to apply!
