Holy crap haha. But I reckon that is a fair amount dude, they'll notice that your references take up quite a bit of space! And you're totally right! Awkward, but hilarious Oh my days! That CV is insane You must have a helluva lot of experience! And I have included my referees. But now you guys are making me feel like my CV is way too short
Hopefully it'll be fine!! I have a friend who is thinking of applying too, so i've sent it to her to proof read and see what she thinks Your CV will be fine Stevey-boy! (too soon for nicknames?..naah...) mine wouldn't be nearly as long if I was on a different Uni course, just so happens that I have to go to lots of schools, which is a right royal pain in the backside when it comes to CV writing! haha!
I might have to swap mine with yours mate, just to double check And not too early dude, we've been chatting for a while!!! Steve-O, Stevey-boy, whatever I was trying to think of a comeback, something along the lines of the military, due to your surname! But that makes more sense! I was freaking out that I hadn't written enough haha
Of course! As for my name.....I like to think my ancestors are pirates You should hear some of the variations I get though, from the 5/6 year olds in the classes I teach! You know the old cliche....it's not quantity it's quality!
I have missed so much of all these posts since I've been working all weekend. Imagineer whats your link to Facebook, I'll add you My CV is around 3 pages including my cover letter but trying to cut it down as I forgot to add an important section in. Just stressing over taking out the wrong information. Just want the 1st of August to hurry up so I can just send it away and just wish and wish that I get to go to the pre screen interviews. Been watching all these vlogs of peoples ICP memories and I am getting all excited and I haven't even applied yet! Glad I have all of you guys to share my excitement with, my friends and family really just aren't as much as a Disney fan as us lot
Legit, I hate being at work because that means I'm not venting my excitement in the forums!!! That's the same length as my CV as well. I've done a bit of research, and most companies won't deal with more than three for the actual CV itself. So don't worry about it I know how you feel though, I get emotional watching people who have just been accepted to the program, I couldn't imagine my reaction if I do! Proper saddo here
It's annoying, i'll be at work and get emails saying someone has replied, have to fight the urge to reply. Ah okay that's good news then. I need to chill out a bit about my CV and that, it's difficult when you want something so badly though. I get emotional when I watch them too! Haha phew I thought I was the only one, we can all be saddos together
Click the little globe thing under my picture - it should work, and take you to my Facebook I'm with ya! August 1st needs to hurry up so I can stop stressing! Have you seen the kind of montage videos full of peoples memories, with Disney music, and fireworks reflecting on their faces? GOD. THOSE VIDEOS. :'( Luckily my mum and dad are Disney nuts too - so we all jump around like loonies with exitement
Luckily I don't work at weekends so I can spend all day spying on the forums! Right, so I can stop stressing about the third page then! Phew! You're right...you are a total saddo! Just like the rest of us here, faffing over CVs and stuff nearly 2 months before we can actually apply, and welling up at videos of fireworks
Applicants in their thousands! Close to/just over 2000 people applied for this summer and around 220 got jobs. I'd really try to cut it down! I've heard from years before that some people haven't gotten through because their CVs were so long. Good and detailed, yes, but too long. My CVs layout was -Contact info -Profile -Skills -Education -Work Experience -Previous Employment -References on request Hope this helps :]
I originally had a sentence in the "profile" section listing hobbies, but I removed it to save space and because it didn't really fit with the other things I was saying in the profile and looked a bit like i'd just thrown it in for the sake of it, so I don't have hobbies now. My layout is: Profile Education - Uni, then A Levels, then GCSEs, Publications and Media (ive had a few things published etc) Other achievements (volunteering awards etc) Experience (with most recent first) References. It's about 2.5 pages in all, plus a page for the cover letter.
Well, I've finally cut down my C.V. to 3 solid pages ;D , and I think that's going to be the best I can do. So my entire application is four pages including my C.V. So basically my layout is that I have my profile and other important details, a full page regarding my education, and a page of work experience and other achievements that I believe are noteworthy. I didn't include my references contact details, is anyone else including them?
I included two, because it looked a bit silly with "References available on request" (what I had originally) when I still had 3/4 of a page left
Okay that's good, mine is pretty much similar, minus the publications and media bit. I finally managed to get mine to 2 pages exactly plus my cover letter, so happy now! 2.5 pages will be fine I think, it is still concise and as long as it's not like 5 pages long we should all be fine. Is there a facebook page for icp applicants this year? Just curious if anyone made one
Just panicking about everything now! : Just want to send it off so it's done! What have you done with the "motivation" box? No there isn't yet....I think they are normally made once people know if they are accepted or not. I can do one though if people think it would be useful??
NEWSFLASH! I have spoken to Yummy Jobs just to clarify a few things and I have some info you might be interested in.... 1) They will definitely have a new website and application system in place by August 1st, so there's no point in filling the online profile in now (oops too late...) 2) It is rare that they consider C.V.s that are longer than two pages. 3) The cover letter should be attached to the CV and it should all be uploaded as 1 document. Looks like i'll have to work even harder at chopping off that last half a page!!!
Hi everyone! I'm new here, just thought I'd post on this thread quickly as I'm hopefully looking to apply in August also Is anyone else extremely anxious? I feel like I've been spending forever on my CV yet am still really worried I'll leave something important out! Can't wait to just send my application off! Anyway hope none of you mind me just jumping into this thread I look forward to finally having people to discuss this whole terrifying (but exciting) process with
So weird that this was me last year! Good luck applying guys If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me! - Jane (current icp participant)
