UK Applicants Summer 2014

They close on the last day of September. But they might close early as they have done so in the past. But they let people know who got interviews within the week after applications close.

 

It says on the YJ website that applications close October 1st


Having more problems than ever with the website, but i've decided im going to submit this afternoon and just email Elena with all the bits that have been deleted/changed.

I wonder if they are regretting launching a new website and opening applications on the same day?

 

I rang them up during the week. They said that they were not considering any applications after September. They also said that they would have picked the people who were to go to the interviews around the end of August, start of September. The earlier you apply the better your chances, it seems.

I say they really had no other choice. The site really did need a new look. But personally I haven't faced any problems with the site except the fact that it won't let me say that I am currently employed. But everyone at Yummy Jobs seem to have no problem fixing the little things like that.

Just wondering does anyone know where the Yummy Jobs interviews were last year? I know they were in London and Edinburgh. But where else where they? Just curious.

 

Right, i've just applied! (FINALLY!) And the weirdest thing happened.....

all the dates were incorrect, and I just submitted anyway with the intention of replying to Elena's e-mail and asking her to change them for me. I clicked submit, and now viewing my application, all the dates are correct! How on earth did that happen???

There was only a few minor problems with it after that, and I have emailed her to let her know - but NOW THE WAIT BEGINS. I CANT BELIEVE IVE ACTUALLY APPLIED! AHHH!


Interesting how they said theyve picked the interviewees by the end of August - does that mean that anyone applying in September will be "second choice"??

 

Yeah I think something along the lines of that. The lady on the phone was sort of saying that applications were sort of first come first served basis as long as you meet all of the requirements. Since they tend to notify successful applicants within the week after applications close. As the Yummy Jobs interviews are in mid October, and around the Disney interview is in early November.

 

I thought they might be, hence why I was getting stressed about not being able to apply immediately!

Last year, most people were told they had an interview on the day the applications closed, so I thought they must decide in advance.

 

Yep that seems about right. They'll probable make allowances this year since all the problems with applications. I'm planning on sending my application on Friday as I have no decent passport style photo and waiting for my brother to come home with the camera.

 

I took mine myself by holding the DSLR out in front of me...it was basically like a posh selife haha....felt a bit of a prat but pretty pleased with the results Just hope they can use it to replace the disgusting one I uploaded to begin with!

 

I didn't even use anything that high tech... just took a good ol' selfie with the ever-helpful apple front-facing camera

 

Elena has said she's fixed everything...but there are still incorrect dates (and now no photo at all!) on my submitted application. I guess they will make allowances, and won't dismiss someone just because there's an incorrect date? (I hope anyway!!) After all, it's not our fault!!

Oh my god....my application is has un-submitted itself! Its gone back to being editable.........uh oh!

 

I got an email from her today too saying it was fixed... But I had a wrong date in aswell and a random blank education in there. So I just emailed her back letting her know
Oh and she said the currently employed option still isn't working so they're trying to fix that..

 

Actually just got a reply as soon as I posted that there

"The start date is changed and the blank education section cannot be removed form the back of house so we enter a underscore which means just that this section empty.

So it is just to make sure for us that it is nothing."

Finally everything's fixed YAYYY

 

I think i might be getting a bit paranoid - my application has still un-submitted itself.......don't want to email Elena again or she'll take out a restraining order!

I actually had to email her AGAIN today cause I realised she put wrong dates it !!
So I apologised for the mass of emails I'd been sending her :

 

I don't know what to do! I think i'll wait until Thursday, and if it's still wrong i'll email her again........feel terrible though! :-\ I'm going to Florida next week, so won't be able to do anything at all whilst there, so it HAS to be sorted before then!

 

Yaayy my account has finally been approved! I'm Chloe and I've had a ridiculous amount of issues with my application and nobody to talk to about it :-X

Yeah I have submitted it, it was all totally fine until that point. Im pretty sure everything on it is fixed now, it just seems that everytime i go on to check it over I find something new that has changed!!! So paranoid that I'll be judged if something is completely wrong with it. ???

 

i get home on sunday and have the rest of summer to do nothing so i hope its fixed soon!
