    Hi!
I don't know how many people are in the group interviews..I think this is only the second year they have done them, as they used to do an individual phone interview instead. I can't even really have an educated guess, as I've had groups of 3 or 4, but then when I interviewed with Apple, there was about 30 of us (and I have to say, that was total chaos!). I'm guessing the YJ interviews will be nearer the 3 or 4 people mark!

As for location - all final interviews are in London I think, so if you get through the pre-screen group interviews you'll have to travel down there anyway :-\

I hope it's not a large group, I'd probably feel like I couldn't get a word in then.

I don't mind the final travel down to london, just as long as it's not going to be causing chaos with my university classes/labs! :-[

That's what it was like at Apple...everyone was talking over each other and you couldn't really hear what anyone was saying and it was just a total shambles!! By some miracle I was invited back for a final interview, but couldn't go because on the interview date I was half way through a holiday in WDW ::) That was the end of my career with Apple! lol!

I'm a bit worried about interview dates etc (If I get that far that is!). if the interview dates are exactly the same as last year, it would be on my first day in a new school (i'm a trainee teacher) which would be a tad awkward! We'd just have to suck it up and clear our schedule though - after all, Uni can be caught up with - this program is a once in a life time opportunity!

So tell us about yourself - what you studying at Uni? How far into your course are you? :D

I've never done a group interview before so it'll be a new experience at the very least if I reach that stage (fingers crossed! ;D)

I'm much the same - I have mandatory labs every single week and I can get in a lot of trouble for missing them, as they usually can't be made up. I may have to invent a nasty stomach bug :p

I'm studying Zoology (thanks to disney, actually), and I've got a year done already. I can't wait to get back to it, I'm honestly loving it. What about yourself, how far along are you?

Very Nice - quite fancied that myself! I wanted to be a Vet for a while too, but I am rather squeamish so thought it may not be the best choice! :p

    7 months...the baby's due in September ;)

I'm doing a BA in Primary Education - i.e. training to be a primary school teacher! Loving it! I am starting my third year in September...and it's a four year course so still got two years left!

There are about 10 people in the YJ Group interviews! You all sit in a circle and they fire questions to the room then do some individually

This must be new? Applicants in previous years have always had to be in university or just finished (ie third year) as you have to get paperwork from uni to send to disney. I'd double check if i was you :) If its true then woop! (Cos that means i would be able to do it again!)

Oh wow....does everyone answer, or is it more a case of "who can jump in and answer first"??

With the pre-screens, having done one last year, it was groups of like 10/11 and for the most part it is more like 'who can jump in and answer first' but there are certain questions they will ask you each one by one. General questions like 'why do you want to do this?', 'how you will handle heat' are thrown out for anyone to answer and then there were individual ones like about what roles you want :) It is a bit daunting and I was really nervous in case I would not get a word in but if you have a good group, everyone should be respectful of each other and you should just bounce off each other. My group was really good with this and from what I recall, you are given a reasonable amount of time to answer each question so almost all the group can answer. Seriously though, do not worry about it; it is not that scary and is actually really enjoyable! Like I was sad when ours was over as it was fun talking to other Disney maniacs. Just do not focus on being competitive and feel you are fighting against others for a place, it is showing that you can get on with others. Hope that helps :)

50/50 I'd say. For the most part the YJ interviewers made sure everyone got their say in but there was a question I didn't get the chance to answer. As long as you make sure you get the chance to speak up and make yourself noticeable you'll be fine. :) Just don't rush into answering before everyone else, let others speak too.

I did wonder if someone would pick up on that line! ;) Most degrees in scotland are four years, so I've still got three left!

So excited for it to be August 1st!! ;D

Although all this talk of group interviews has got me really nervous, I'm terrible at stuff like that! Always get worried I'll end up interrupting someone :/

Oh well I guess I'll panic over that if I actually get offered an interview ;D

Think this has been asked before, but is the last interview a group one as well? I always get confused? Is it these pre-screen interviews that are the big group ones? Then if you are successful is it another group interview? I've heard of some people having paired interviews and some, simply 1 to 1 interviews?

The pre screen is the big group one and the final interview is 1 on 1 with the disney recruiters :)

I swear, the pre-screen was really not that bad and it is enjoyable! I was so nervous before as obviously you want it so much so it is scary feeling like you might not get a chance to fully get your personality and passion across but you will be able to (hopefully!). It is not so much what you are saying that is being noted, but how you are interacting with others so whether you are looking at others when talking and not twiddling your thumbs, looking at your lap etc. It is unlikely you can answer every question but as long as you answer like every second or so, it should be fine as you do get a few individual ones as well. You will definitely get a chance to say something so do not worry! It happened a few times that two people started at the same time but as long as you apologise it does not matter and generally when two people did start talking at the same time, they both got a go in the end.

Having only had one pre-screen, I am no master obviously but I can assure you that from memory, for the most part everyone enjoyed it as it is really a group conversation and after the presentation, you will be really hyped up and will actually be dying to talk more about the program so it is like 'bring on the interview!'.

Saying all this, if I am fortunate enough to get a pre-screen, I will most definitely probably be worried (and now I feel with all my reassurances it will come back to bite me with a pre-screen from hell or something!) but seriously do not stress now guys :)

Cant wait now! Nearly finished touching up my CV and my insurance university changed their conditional offer to unconditional which means i'm definitely going to uni so I can apply on the 1st August instead of waiting later in the month!
