Seeing all of this food and the blogs/vlogs are making me crave something Disney. Luckily I'll be visiting in a few days :D and I actually cannot believe that we will be applying in a few weeks! It's crazy how quickly it seems to be going!

Have fun Stevey-boy! Only 41 days until I get to follow in your footsteps! :D Talking of applying in a few weeks, if we were on the program this year, we'd only have a few weeks left!

Also, thought this timescale from last year would be useful for everyone...found it on a blog:

    3rd August - Applications Open
    28th September - Applications Closed
    28th September - Invited to Pre-Screen Interview
    8th October - Pre-Screen Interview
12th October - Invited to final interview
    22nd October - Final Interview
    2nd November - Acceptance e-mail received.
7th November - deadline for confirming place

Thanks so much for that! I've been trying to find a breakdown of dates, especially for application closing dates as I dont get my a level results until the 15th therefore wont be applying until then, so this helps so much!

I am so jealous of everyone going to Disney this summer - anyone want to take me in their suitcase? Have a great time guys! :)

Hopefully i will be able to apply, i dont enrol into uni until 09th September so hopefully the applications will still be open!

Just working on my cv but havent really done a cover letter before so not sure what I should put in that, is it kind of like a personal statement?

    Good luck to everyone applying!

    Hi Josh!

You can apply before the 9th of September if you have a confirmed place at University - you don't have to wait until you are enrolled. Steven (s.curtis on here) asked Yummy Jobs because he's in the same boat :)

Also, if you go back towards the beginning of this conversation, we all had a nice long stress (err, I mean chat!) about our cover letters, and a few of us shared the structure we had used.
I would have referred you to the CV/Cover letter guidance on the Yummy Jobs website, but the website has closed today, to make way for the new one that's launching in August!

    ;D

    Thanks!

I have accepted an unconditional offer so will my place be confirmed once i get my results?

If its the same as when I applied to uni two years ago, if the offer is unconditional, the results don't matter, you are definitely in. My course depended.on results, and so it was posted as conditional until results were released. Sounds like you're fine though, and ready to go!!

Hey Josh, I know your worries have already been assuaged, but just to reiterate, first year uni students will be able to enrol in the Disney ICP. Here are the only requirements as per the Disney ICP website:
    Be fluent in English
Be at least 18 years of age upon arrival
Be a student enrolled in an accredited, degree-issuing college or university; and returning to school for at least one term following the program; Students can also participate in the program immediately following graduation.

    So no worries mate :D

That timeline makes everything so real. I can't take it. It's 11:30 and I've got a major adrenaline rush. Saddo, with a capital sad!

I agree it does make everything seem more real
I was interested to know when we found everything out so that's helpful, thank you :)

If you don't mind me asking, how long is everyone's cv's? In terms of word count I mean?
I'm worried mine is far too long at 730 words :-\ I was reading back through the thread and saw that yummy jobs said it can't be more than 600 words?!

I've emailed yummyjobs just to check, but yeah was just wondering how long everyone else's is? ???

    Thanks guys :)

I don't think it really matters that much, as long as it doesn't go over two pages, and it doesn't look like too much text...make sure it's not all squashed up and is easy to glance over and it should be alright! ;D

ETA: Just checked mine, and mine is 992 words - so if you have something to worry about, then I definitely have! haha! Mine doesn't look squished really though, so i'm not too worried about the word count. :)

Haha yeah with your amount of job experience, it'd be insane to cut pieces out to get to 600 words!

If they made me cut it down to 600 words, I think I might smash my computer up! ha!!

    Hey everyone I'm Lauren
Without trying to sound creepy I've been watching this page for a while until I could post. I know you were just talking about first year university students are OK to apply. In September I'll be starting my final year at A Levels and applying to universities. Does anyone know if I'll still be able to apply this year as I'm still planning on going to university? I really hope so, I just realized that I might not be able to this year since I'm not enrolled in a university yet and my stomach dropped and I had this horrible sinking feeling. I was getting so excited for this year it's insane. Good luck to everyone else with their applications.
Also, just remembered another quick question, how long does it usually take for yummyjobs to get back to you?

    Hi Lauren!
Do you mean you've just finished your first year of A levels? If so I don't think you can apply this year I'm afraid :(
You can apply at the end of your A levels however, even if you aren't actually at a university when you apply, so long as you've got a place at one and will technically be in one when the interviews for the program begins (if that makes sense). For example some people will be applying next month, but not actually starting university until this September! That's completely fine :)

With regards to your other question, do you mean how long till they reply to an email? If so, from own experience it is always very quickly, within a day or two!

If you mean how quickly till they reply during the application process, somebody actually posted a rough set of important dates of when people hear about the process about a page back :)

    Hope this helps :)

    I Lauren!
Unfortunately, if you are starting your second year of A Levels in September, you will not be able to apply for summer 2014. You have to have already started at University to go on the program, so you are able to apply if you are starting University in September, but not if you're still at college. :( Sorry!

In terms of replying to e-mails - i've always Facebook messaged them, and they have always replied within 24 hours (although I've only done it twice!) They are very friendly, so no need to worry there!
If you mean in terms of application - I posted a timescale a few pages back.....from memory, applications closed on 28th Semtember last year, and people were told that very night if they had a pre-screen interview. The interviews both took place in October, and successful applicants were notified at the very beginning of November. So a fairly quick process really (although i'm sure it won't seem that quick if we are waiting to hear about interviews etc!!) haha!
