hi guys. I'm new here and from the UK. i have a few questions: 1. Do you have to be in Uni to apply? If not than do you have to be on an Higher National Diploma (HND) in College? 2.What is the Inauguration/First night like?
wow i missed one nyt n ther was 5 new pages of stuff! wooooow! not long now tho til we hear if we get to the next stage or not! yaaay!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
- no, for CRP you don't need to be at uni/have qualifications to apply. - as for my thoughts on other things, I think that it's unfair to say that people coming out of uni straight away have no experience... I don't have as much work experience as those who have some time in between applying- but I've done a lot of extra curricular things at uni that give me some of the necessary skills they would be looking for. -I think yummy probably look at loads of different factors when deciding- communication, teamwork, leadership- but at the end of the day I reckon it's more about luck than anything else (as you say vikki!!)...whether they look at your application on a good day or not. I don't think a rejection says anything about you personally and your skills- I'm sure everyone on here has the necessary skills for the jobs at Disney...or the ability to learn them... x x
Hi ya! I can only answer your first question as I've got been a CR (hopefully soon though!). You don't have to be in uni or college to apply, you don't need to have even been to uni or college to apply for the CRP. As long as you are 18 or over, then you're fine to apply! ;D If you want to do the International College Program then you do need to be in Uni, but not in your last year (I'm not 100% certain on this). I'm not sure whether you can do the ICP if you're at college, it all depends on what qualification you're going for. Maybe only degree students can apply? With regards to KatLou26 I definitely think that luck has something to do with it! For example one thing you wrote on the CV or CL might really stand out to that particular interviewer/reviewer with makes them think instantly that you are totally what they're looking for. Again that is luck as the same sentence might have no effect on any other of the people at Yummy Jobs. p.s I'm getting rather depressed reading all the messages on here! Each time I look on here I read some other CRP related fact and see my chances dwindling before me!! Nooooo.....
dont get depressed!! each person is completely different in what things they see as the most important factors to be a crp so if u r missing sumthin sed b4 dnt sweat it!! uve prob loadsa other fantastic things going 4 u!! chin up!!! im jus hoping for the best!!!!! (and im gettin so excited!!!)
Thanks man! ;D I did feel quite positive about my CV and CL, but these jobs seem harder to get than I first thought! I hope that my CV is okay and that I do at least get a phone interview. I'm also getting so excited! I get butterflies in my stomach when I remember that I've applied and that I might even be successful and work there!!! Then I go crazy! I've been ready all the blogs people have written etc. trying to suck up all of the information possible about the CRP. And then that just makes me more excited than ever! Is this your first time applying for the CRP?
i know kim im the same ive been reading as much as i possibly can, im practically conjoined to the laptop at the mo lol i think it seems like is so many people applying because we are getting the chance to speak to eachother beforehand wereas most jobs u go to the interview not knowing if ther is 5, 50 or 500 applicants, wud b reali good to find out whose going and when, before making it out ther, (if i make it ther lol) FINGERS X'D!!!!
fuinkyk2009, heya u hav to get in contact with yummy jobs if you want to apply, theve just closed the applications for crp to begin late 2010 tho.
This is now about the 5th person to have asked (either on the boards or in PM to me) whether you have to be at uni to take part on the CRP. Is it me or do people not read up on these things?
Kim , I'm sure your cv/cl were great and glad you agree with me on the luck aspect to applying. I think it's one of those jobs that loads of people apply for because of what it is...Disney! I agree with many of you about all the facts and figures floating around...they're not very optimistic! fingers crossed x x
None of us have been out there on the CRP yet, so none of us know. Check out blogs and alumni posts for the answer.
read thru the discussion boards, they have lots of info, and read yummy jobs and google the programme online as loads of reali good websites with info come up and will tell u loads of info, thats wot i did and loads of others as well, and weve posted links on the boards.
Second this....we can't really say, I think there might be some organized get to know you thing with other UK people? But may be completely wrong! x x
