Well it's around 6 weeks until 1st of Jan Applications! ;D Has everyone started on their CV? I don't actually have a CV (my last one was written in about Yr 11 and includes under 'Things I would like to do in the next 5 years:' Skydive! Ha! I was such a joker!), so I'm having to totally rewrite one, and to say the least it isn't easy! I actually have a complete memory block and I'm failing to remember anything I did before Uni. Anyone have any useful CV tips? What should I avoid saying on my CV when applying for the CRP? I heart Disney!
OMGoodness only 6 weeks that's not very long at all *gulp i'm just going to fix my CV from last year. Work exsperience is important and a cover letter exsplaining why you want to go it you look on yummy jobs websity they have a CV help sheet and template might help gud luck ;D
Im applyin again in January..I applied the last time and got put on the waiting list but could only leave in August so hopefully get it next time !
Third time applying... first time I got through to the phone interviews, second time I didn't even make it that far. So third time's a charm!!
I know, it's so gutting when you get turned down for a job you so badly want! Especially when WDW and Mickey Mouse are concerned! ;D I do hope I get to at least the phone interview, it's so unfair when you don't even get a chance to speak to a potential employer before being turned down. With so much competition for places, I'm really gonna make sure my CV is poo hot! lol! ;D
loolllll love it! i know, i was saying before people may have good CV's but be horrible in the job in question (e.g have bad manners to customers ect) and the people with CV's not as good could have exactly what they are after! it is gutting though
Yeah, definitely! We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope not many people apply, so everyone is hired! Yeah....not gonna happen! Would you apply for Merch or F and B? Ohh how amazing it would be to work there and be a part of it...!
well i first wanted to go for f&b. but to be honest, i just wanna get our there and working for the mouse, so il take any position! lol how bout you?
well may i be the first (in a while) to wish all the people applying for a third time and those applying for the first time (also all of the guys applying with me for the second time) all the best of luck ;D
Aww Thanks Gary Good luck to you too! Did you get a second job as I know that you tried for Disney Stores in UK and also will you be changing your CV lots?? ;D
Good luck to first time appliers and second time appliers and third time appliers. (I forgot to add) Opps! ;D x
hehe your welcome. and thanks too nah i didnt manage to get a job at all and with it coming up to christmas and all i doubt i will too be honest oh well. i will probs be redoing my cv. not sure how yet lol and rewriting my cover letter but im bad at these things so
Oh no everything seems a bit down!!!! not too worrie we have all the time in the world to apply GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!! I really hope if i do get though everyone eles i know will too becuase you make friends on here you want them to come out with you!!!! well tbh i just want a phone inetview because i think i'm much better in person then on paper!!!
Dudes! We gotta think POSITIVE! Is Mickey Mouse ever sad?? No, he smiles and gets on with it! Use him as your role model! he he! ;D Just think this time next year...we will be millionaires Rodney! Or even better we could be at WDW for Christmas! There is loadsa help on-line on how to write a CV or Covering Letter, it just takes quite a lot of time to go through all the info and to write a really good CV. In answer to disney.freak I would prob go for F&B, that's where most of my work experience is in. I've not worked as a waitress or in a real restaurant before, all my jobs have been in fast food really. So I think that my skills could easily transfer into Merch as well, as they both work on the same basic operating principles. But like you said, wherever they think that my skills are most useful, I'll work there. I think that it doesn't matter where you work in WDW, both Merch and F&B seem pretty stressful, busy and long hour-ed jobs. Oh the fun!
I read this part and actually got shivvers down the back of my neck! i am sooo excited! this board keeps my hopes up, and cheers me up sooo much!! hehe
