Hiiiii everyone, Ive just been in touch with Yummy Jobs and they advised me they wil be contacting me with details this month....How exciting!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I no Im very keen hahaha, but the gentleman I spoke to was very nice and confirmed my CV had been received and they are contacting people this month, so fingers crossed we will know asap. I have been reading these forums and some are talking about phone interviews but mainly for Canada, for UK appl do they do this also??? As well do we know where the presentations and interviews are based? Sorry for all the questions people. xxxxx
They've been looking at Canadian applications for over a month now, which is why those guys are having their phone interviews already. Us Brits will also have to have phone interviews, if they like your CV that is. If you're successful in the phone interview, you'll then get asked to go to London for a face to face interview. If you're successful in the f2f interview you'll either be given a departure date or put on a waiting list with a hopeful departure date given later on. Hope I've helped.
Thanks VikkiLillyBee, helped very much. I've had phone interviews before but Im thinking Disney ones maybe different but Ill wait and see. Thanks for that xxxx
As u can imagine people have been discussing this for years lol, and if u go through past chats ull find convo's about the interviews etc, it should give u a feel for what to expect!! Just look around, hope that helps.
Quick question, my dad's just scared the life outta me telling me I'll prob need injections of some kind if I go over there for a year coz they'll be mosquitos in the swamps and things! Please someone tell me I'm being incredibly guilable!!! HATE needles!! eek! xoxox
Injections themselves don't bother me, but the faff of getting them is a pain. So glad we don't need any for America. Saying that though, what's the current Swine flu situation with it all? Or don't they care any more?
Hi again I'm just wondering has everyone applied through Yummy Jobs.com or anyone use the application form here. I applied on Yummy Jobs and I just uploaded my CV, but didn't include any covering letter. I mean on my CV it starts with a kind of covering letter, explaining why I want to do the programme and why I think I am suited etc. Do you think this is ok or have I ruined my chances do you think? :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ xxxxx
I wouldn't worry! If you've included everything that you wanted to and could you can't do anymore. I have my CV then wrote in the motivations section a kinda cover letter then paniced and tried to do a further cover letter but realised i was just continually repeating myself so left my application as it was. If you're really worried just send a cover letter seperatly and ask for it to be attached to your application! I've never been to America so dad was proper winding me up and I thought I was being really stupid not knowing you'd need injections. He was proper winding me up. Complete malteeser moment xoxox
Some people get positions without a cover letter, some people like to have one anyway. I shouldn't worry if I were you, you won't have ruined your chances. You have to apply through yummy jobs, they're the recruiting agency for UK and Canadian CRPs, so we'll have all used that. I'd stop worrying if I were you and just wait for an email from them. It's all we can really do at the moment.
Hey folks, been creating a CV for what seems like days, it's only been a few hours really haha. Cover letter is killing me though, so far I have ... nothing! How do you sell yourself without sounding big headed lol. One thing that is bothering me though, I have 4 years experience working in retail, and none in hospitality, but I would really like to work in the Rose & Crown. Is this possible or because of my experience am I likely to end up working in one of the shops?
If you're lucky, the retail experience will get you into the interview stages, then once you get to the face to face interviews you can specify which are you'd like to work in, Food and Beverage or Merchandise. Just becuase you specify F&B doesn't mean you'll get it, but I believe there's more places in F&B than there are in Merch, and they will at least take it into consideration.
