U.K August 2009 Applicants

My friend is off to Florida for two weeks on tuesday. Im so jealous!

 

5 days!!! I think I've thouroughly (how the hell do you spell that? lol) bored all my family and friends here talking about Disney! Oh well!! xoxox ;D

 

So everyone is kinda assuming that they're gonna start reviewing applications end of this week/start of next week .... but we dont actually know for sure WHEN in August they'll start - for all we know they might not start reviewing applications until half way through the month - or maybe even the end of the month!
In January I think they started on the 15th (although they had put the actual date on the website then, rather than just "January") So it could still be weeks before anything happens.

 

well, like i've said before, im not fussed it they dont sat reviewing them untill mid august, i just enjoy the countdown as a build up, gives you something to get excited about and look forward too. plus it makes your year out last a wholeeee lot longer hehe

i need advice from someone who's been before. I'm going to Orlando for 3 weeks starting October 6th. When abouts would be phone and f2f interviews be? would there be a chance i'd miss them?

 

if they are the same time scale as the january ones, they would be the end of october or beginning of november, but i would worry about that once u get invited!!!

Thank you! I find it rather annoying that we're all on here together, but the applications are going through at different times. Then again, we're both going through yummy and they only have so many staff, I guess. Good luck to all you guys currently waiting for phone calls. Couple more weeks until we get ours.

Yeah, it's a real shame that applications are going at the same time. When are they looking at sending UK people out? Early next year for us, is it the same for you?

I can't wait to meet people from overseas too! That was one of the big draws of the program for me, you get to meet so many interesting people! And then have an excuse to go travelling, so you can visit your newly made friends! ;D

 

Yea, our departure dates are between Feburary and June, apparently. Not sure where the original source of that info comes from, but hey.

It's a big draw for me too, the cultural aspect. I have no desire to go to many places in the world, I'm pretty sure if I end up in Africa it'll only be the once (I could be wrong, but this is my current view). I do however want to meet the people from those places. Perhaps they can convince me otherwise? Perhaps their love of their own country will convince me that I *do* want to travel the world. In which case, my boyfriend already hates you all. Nah, only joking.
