U.K August 2009 Applicants

Which Newcastle are ya from Mallory? The big geordie one up north? I'm from "the other Newcastle", in Staffordshire - I work in a hotel, and you'd be amazed how many people turn up there thinking they're in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne!

 

Bizarrely, I'm not so amazed. That kinda shows my faith in the general populases mental status. I know my geography is bad, but not *that* bad. Sheesh.

I have no idea ..... they're about 300 miles apart!! But we often get people looking for the Life Center and stuff ..... or the Harry Potter castle! The look on peoples faces when you break it to them is classic!

 

OK, so I'm new to this site and i know that they start reviewing applications in August but I've applied in April and they said I would be contacted from august to mid september if I was to get an interview. Is this the same as everyone else?? And does anyone know how long the whole process takes, visas, crb check etc? any help would be appreciated!

Yeah was speaking to yummy jobs and everyone gets contacted within 6 - 8 weeks from the start of Aug. I know when I applied for the college program interviews were held about 2 months after they started reviewing applications, that would be around the start of Oct. Don't know it it would be the same for the cultural rep program but seen as how start dates are from Feb 2010 I think interviews would be sooner rather than later to give people enough time to sort out visas etc!!

Yep the timings you've detailed above are about right going on previous experiences. Phone interviews in late August/September with face to face interviews some time in Autumn, likely to be in London only for the CRP. Departure dates offered are likely to be from February to around July with CRB's soon after accepting a place, and Visas a month or two before you leave.

lol I'm gonna be checking if every 5 mins come august. just another question could i still add some more details to my application before august? I know it has edit but will the people at yummy jobs think your trying to add too much?

 

You can add/ change things as often as you want. I have been ever since I applied for this programme in March and before then when I was applying for the discontinued graduate programme.

 

Thank god I have all my emails coming to my phone or ill defo get sacked for checking emails all the time and constantly being on this site!! lol

luckily im much busier at work in august or i think i would go totally insane....like everyone else i want this so badly!!

hi guys, just thought i would wish you good luck with all your applications, i have just received the call to go after 3 months on the wait list! the waiting is horrible, after the london interviews waiting to find out if ur through or on the waitlist or by any chance have not made is awful. so i have my fingers crossed for all of you applying, (especially Jim x)

i think whoever does get through on the august UK applications will be joining me as i start in HRC on march 9th 2010.

I defo need luck as I applied for this and had my interview on april 1st and didnt get it and I was soooo diaspointed

i'm getting a bit worried that I won't be in the country for either the phone interview or face to face? when is face to face usually, im going away to Orlando on October 6th, bad timing :/
