Me too. Was thinking about starting a thread with a list of possible questions that could be ask, that way everyone has a rough idea of what to expect. And whoever has done the interview process before can chime in with tips and questions of they can remember.
I don't wanna start thinking about the interview just in case I don't even get that far! It's all very well thinking that you have all the right experience etc but when it comes down to it, anything can happen! Especially at Disney so i'm gonna try not get my hopes up... for a while anyway... 8)
or as the other saying goes, climb the ladder one rung at a time, or, dont run before you can walk im sure theres lots more i cant be bothered to think about atm lol
Got an extra reason today to wanna go work at Disney for a year ..... my skanky employers have told me today that I am having my salary cut by 25%!! Gggggrrr!! So it's either go to Florida for a year, or stay here and have to live on dry bread and water!
That's proabably what you'll have to live on at Disney...I know I did!! But it won't matter because it's Disney!! ;D
I can put up with having no money over there though, it'd be worth it ...... it's not quite the same stuck at home!
25%?!?!?!?! Is it even legal to decrease your salary by that much??!!? Lol don't blame you for being even more motivated to go to Disney now! I Would be if I was in the same position as you!
Damnnnnn that sucks! well i always said i'd work at Disney for free as long as it meant i got there lol so dont suppose it matters like ya say. its different over there
Ok guys. so the is just over a month left before the applications start now. I was just wondering who has already sent in their CV's? who hasn't yet? who hasn't even started to write theirs yet? lol Also, how many of you are writing ''please reconsider me'' letters in case the refuse you?
I'm all finished with mine, just waiting to start my new job so that I can add anything important that I'm going to be doing there that Yummy might be interested in. I'll probably send it off pretty soon after I start though, I've rung Yummy to find out if it's okay (it is) because when applications open I'm gonna be at Disneyland
Ok guys, so I'm new here. I've read through this entire thread (most of last night and some of this morning... it's a loooooooooooooooooong thread) and you guys are all really excitable! I find it quite funny actually. I'm thinking about applying in August, I'll just need to tart up my CV and write a cover letter (easily done) but I'm a little bit worried. You see, I'm in a long term relationship, but I've never been great at long distance ones. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas, or know of anyone who's been in a similar situation before disappearing to Florida for a year? My other half has basically said that he doesn't like the idea of me going, but he'll support me if it's what I want to do. So yea, any help? P.S. I'm Vikki and I'm currently 20, 21 in September, living in Bristol.
What did they say about this? I'm currently planning a trip to Walt Disney World for my birthday, and I'm worried that something will happen while I'm out there.
Well I'm leaving on the 29th July, so I'll be out right when the applications start. I just rang to ask if I could apply early or when applications close. They said that they're holding all the applications they get before August and that's just when they'll start reviewing so I'm fine to apply early. When's you're birthday? What part of the process are you thinking could happen? I know it takes them 2-3 weeks from when they review your application to get back to you, so I shoulb be back before I hear about telephone interviews. oh god I feel a bit sick
My birthday is September 17th, right now the dates I have planned is 2 weeks from 15th until 29th Two to three weeks, eek! that could me early September, I just don't want to be at the other side of the world, when a possible telephone interview could take place. And I feel sick too, excitement, nerves and now worry.
well I know they let you choose the date of you're phone interview, I'm sure they'd be flexible if you're out of the country. If I remember correctly from last time round I applied on the 10th of Jan, heard back [edit] on the 28th and people had phone interviews all the way until the middle of february. Yummy are really nice people, I'm sure they'll be able to interview you after you get home (or before)
Wow thank you for the (inside) information, that makes book this trip a little easier. I think I'll email sometime closer to the time, just to confirm where I am and that I'll get in contact with them or vise-versa when I return.
I'm planning to go from the 11th til the 23rd, so i'm hoping that if we get phone interviews, that we'll be able to arrange them for when we're back in the UK, but i suppose if they have to, they can just do it while we're in Orlando...i hope!! Last year they rang me while I was in New York to sort stuff out so its kind of the same!!
am really jealous about u all talking about going to orlando in a couple of months! i went for a month long holiday in april and have hated every minute of being back here! lets just hope i get the call to be off the waitlist soon or get throught he next lot of applications or i dont know wot ill do!!!x
