It doesn't look to far from vista looking at that.. Also, am i right in saying that treehouses used to be a disney resort for guests? From things i've read on the net there always put in the context as if guests used to stay in them..
Yeah, it used to be a resort for guests... I read the following about the Treehouse Villas... "The Treehouses were pulled out of service at least a couple of years ago. They did incur some damage during Hurricane Charley in 2004, and because they are on protected wetlands Disney can't simply make the repairs. Evidently they'd have to be brought up to ADA code, which would be impossible or extremely costly. They've been using them to house some of the college program participants - but they're not available to guests at this time (and there's been no mention of them ever being available again in the future)." yeah when we arrived basically everyone requested to move! but they simply said no you cant move between complexes, only within. so im just dealing with it, at the moment its not so bad. we got told theyre closing it to participants in 2008 (theres another place opening as well) and reopening to guests, though theyd have to refurbish it as i couldnt see why anyone would pay decent money to live here!
Seriously you will learn to love the treehouses. I was there last year and from the sounds of it they have improved things. Last year there was no internet so you always had to walk to the computers and there were no buses direct to vista so you had to change. Everyone wanted to move but after a few weeks you will get used to it.
Its going to be next to chatham as far as i know..On that massive empty bit of land there is there.. There isn't any land opposite the commons, its just the church car park and its way to small to be building the sort of complex there guna be building i would say.. Is it guna open May 2008? Thats what i heard.. Also..Is it me, but on that picture have two trees actually fallen onto the treehouse building! Thats well dangerous! haha..
Yeah there'd be no way to move out of the Treehouses, mainly becuase they use them as overflow and for MK cast only. Thus if they put you in there you're there for a reason. I had a roomate who had his role (and park) changed and last year he got a letter telling him that since he worked in the MK he was required to move to the Treehouses by the end of the week. Since he had transfered to DAK he was alloud to stay but trust me, if anything they're pulling people into the treehouses and none will be getting out most likely.
am i right in thinking the treehouses used to be part of the Old Key West resort and are inbetween old key west and saratoga springs??? I think i drove past them when i was there in January.
they are! the first taxi i got back from vista the driver didnt know the way! we stopped at saratoga to ask, and ever since if they dont know i just say between old key west and saratoga!
so what do you do if you want to go to or from a theme park thats not magic kingdom? how long will it take from treehouses? can you actually always get to and from the other parks at any time?
are cast members allowed to use the normal disney transportation buses when now working? cos if they are i'd say walk to either saratoga or old key west cos they would be quicker.
Those treehouse kinda remind me of I'm a celebrity get me out of here ;D Still would be cool to live in a tree lol
i asked my trainers the same kinda questions and they basically said yeah! we can use the transportation between parks but not sure about the ones between the resorts, if im going to any theme park other than MK ill go to vista and get a bus from there, cos more than likely ill be meeting people from there anywhere! the bus to vista takes about 15-20mins, its fine getting there its just coming back, if you stay late at a park the last direct bus back is 8:40, so you either get a taxi or get a couple of buses via chatham, which is just annoying!
i though that would probably be the case, esp as i never been asked for my tickets or resort id when getting on them.
I always used the Disney resort buses and stuff...how do they know that you don't have a reservation at the restaurant there? I used to get the resort bus to Port Orleans Riverside and walk through out the other side of the resort to walk Disney Event Productions for Candlelight rehearsals. Also you could work in that resort.
yeah you're not suposted to use them (resort guests only) but really theres so many reasons why you might be using them they never check.
You're a bloody lucky sod though with your room to yourself and tv Not like us poor schmucks in Chatham having to share :'(
