Yeah Im wanting to travel as well - was thinking of just booking my return flight from New York about 2-2 1/2 weeks after I finish as I know I def want to go there but not plan what to do in between until I get there and hopefully meet people to travel with!
i was gonna book a return flight from either LA or NY but didnt want to end up being sort of stuck flying back from there and having to travel there to get home even if i changed my mind
I didn't book a return flight when I went the last time, and I probably wont now either! I don't want to do that, because I don't know if I'll extend or travel after I'm finished.
Steph, I'd advise booking your return flight from somewhere like LA or New York, somewhere you definately want to see and so have more drive to get there, failing that, internal flights are really cheap when you book the over there so you could easily get to NY or LA from anywhere in the country and works out much cheaper than trying to change flight details from say orlando, or buying a second one way ticket. STA do open jawed flights in the advanced options tab on the website and they work out a lot cheaper if you can decided what city you want to leave from x
Yay!! (This is where the obsessive planner kicks in) I think i'm going to attempt to take a trip to Disneyland and US Hollywood afterwards (that's if I'm accepted and the dates are ok). I have a friend who wants to apply at the same time as me so I might ask her if she wants to go but otherwise, I'm good going by myself!
I've been have a look and I can't go on any of the suntrek ones their tour dates finish before the end of my programme. But I'm not really the camping type, I had just decided to try it while the opportunity was there.. but if there is a company where you don't have to camp, I might just have to have a look at that one.. Charlotte your a wealth of knowledge lol
lol I've been looking into it for a while!! Contiki do coach tours but they're more expensive. The new Trek America brochure has Budget Lodging Tours in it, so that might be better I really don't know what to do!! Charlotte xx
Another Disney dude and I are doing a Trek America er.. trek after the ICP ending on the 29th. Flying over to san fram that night , having a couple of days there before starting the trek on sep 1st which lasts for a wekk. I'm flying back from LA on the 8th, and he is going on to NY... With london-orlando-london flights getting so ridiculously high in price, it seems crazy not to go anywhere afterwards! if anyone wants to join us please do! The more the merrier! xx
hey there, i just wanted to add that i really want to travel afterwards but i am trying to stick clear of the treks only because i haven't got a clue what or where i want to go yet and knowing my luck i would book up before hand and the people i meet will go else where so i am keeping my options open. i have looked at ways of getting home and New York seems the best way to get back to the UK as it seems really cheap to fly back to London. and i really do love New York great bars. i cant wait to get out there never mind traveling afterwards. hope all is well Sean
Has anyone else looked into Mexico? You can get gorgeous hotels right on the beach for not too much money. I wouldn't mind a couple of weeks relaxing on the beach as I guess we're going to be working pretty hard all summer!! I'm looking at Cabo right now, there's loads to see and do. I'm so excited!!!!
Mexico wouldn't be a bad idea! I know a lot of people have gone to cancun, isn't that in Mexico? There I would get a good chance at practicing my spanish too
Mexico is a great idea i never thought about doing that, i better start saving plenty of Penny's as i really want to make full use of the 30 days that we get after the program
Well guys - i've taken the plunge and decided on my last 30 or so days.. i'm going to LA for 5 days, the doing the T.A. Southern Sun Trek from LA to New York via Vegas, New Mexico, Grand Canyon & Washington etc, then 2 days in New York before flying home ;D Mexico sounds an awesome idea, but i've decided that i wanna do a full round the world trip after the disney so I'm gonna try travelling thru south america that way; and the Trek will probably be the best way to cover as much land as possible in the 30 days i've got! There is just so much I want to do!! Good luck with your plans guys Keep us updated with ideas and decisions xxx xXx
