IS everyone getting so excited?! I am lol Does anyone know if we need letters of reference i read some where that we did so i got some lol Where is everyone staying Im still looking for a hotel lol!
@abillauer-I'm staying at the Delta too! What day is your interview? I'm staying there from the 2cd to 4th. @A47Keez90-You don't need to bring references. Soon we will be getting sent a link to do the online application and you put your employment history on there. I don't believe Disney calls past employers, they have never called mine. During the interview I have been asked about my current job and what I do there but that's about it. You will need to bring an updated resume with you though along with the online application and photocopies of your passport. As for a place to eat, last year the ICPs met at Jack Astor's near the Eaton Centre. It's super close to the interview location. There is also inside the Eaton Centre a restaurant called Mr. Greenjeans that is really good as well.
As some says, maybe it's better to do the supper on the 2nd so more people can be there...Ariella, as you did the ICP, I was wondering how is the living down there, room, complex facilities...
ill be there! hopefully we can all agree on a place to meet up. I have a question tho, on the interview day i know we have the presentation...then what? we get interview times and have free time until then?
Hey i'm from Winnipeg heading down for the interviews on October 3rd. There are 4 of us who are returning cast members that are going to be attending these interviews!
Don't we need to bring a criminal record check as well? Or is that only Cast-A-Way? I read it on the UK applicants' thread. Yup. Free time until the time they tell us we have our interview at. Or, at least that's what I've heard.
@katie217-After the presentation, they give you your interview times and you are free to do whatever you like until your interview time. The interviews are right by the Eaton Centre so most people headed there to shop and grab something to eat. They do recommend coming back thirty minutes before your scheduled time. They tend to schedule the interviews by who has traveled the farthest, for both my ICP interview I was done before noon so I just stuck around the interview location. @ashley86-Did you do the ICP before or the CRP? It's good to see another person for the interviews on the 3rd. @Rin-You don't need to bring a criminal record check, they ask you to do one once you have been hired so hopefully in a few months you will need to do that @jslussier-Living down there is amazing! My first program I lived in Vista, the second one in Chatham. Vista was okay (it is the oldest) but I loved Chatham. Chatham really felt like a resort and it was so nice being so close to the outlet malls. At Vista I lived with 5 other girls but at Chatham I only had 3 other roommates so it was 2 per washroom which was nice. The apartments come furnished like dorms do in uni so all you really need to worry about is bedding, towels, and hangers. The beds can be uncomfortable so I highly recommend getting one of those foam mattresses. I didn't for the summer since it was only 3 months but for a year I definitely would. For the CRP you can either live in the Commons or Patterson now (most Canadians I talked to down there where at Patterson). Patterson is the newest complex and is really nice. The Commons has washers/dryers inside each apartment but at Patterson you have facilities throughout the complex. The area the Commons/Patterson/Chatham is in is called Little Lake Bryan and is so nice. You have Mickey's Retreat nearby which is the cast member recreation area. The outlet mall is super close and Publix is only a 10-15 minute walk away so when you don't want to wait for the bus to Walmart for groceries you have that option (plus so much better for fresh fruit and veggies). Anything else you want to know feel free to ask! I loved it down there, the lifestyle down there is hard to leave lol.
thanks for the info! when you say they tend to schedule the interviews for who traveled the farthest...do you mean that the farthest people are interviewed first?
Aw geeze. You got me even MORE excited, ariella! lol Thanks for the insights! If the 'furthest location the sooner the interview' is how they do I probably won't even have to leave after the presentation! I know there is one girl from the Yukon and another guy from Vancouver (i think) but other than that I haven't heard of any other western coasters
here is the link for the facebook group! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=145707952117666#!/group.php?gid=145707952117666&v=wall
Honestly just have fun. They expect you to be nervous, they are looking for bubbly people who want to be there and are excited about it. The interview is two parts, the beginning you come in and fill out some forms, then a little video and they talk about the program. Then you break and then they start the interviews. And of course once you get down there, it will be the best year that you will ever have lol. So excited!!! Any questions ask away!
I think 99% of the people qualify under 'excited' lol! Yay! Question time! One that I've been DYING to ask: Do they put people from the same country in the same rooms? Or do they try their best to mix it up? Oh! And are you applying again? Is that why you're here? Or are you just a helpful person in general?
haha yes I am reapplying. But also a helpful person... They do try and mix up who you room with. When I first got there I was in a 4 bedroom with, a French, German, Italian, 3 Japanese and 1 Chinese girl. But sometimes just by luck of the draw and what apartments and beds are available that's where you get put. They try and put new people together tho, but once again it's all based on their occupancy rate. After being there for 5 months the opportunity came up to move into a 1 bedroom with a Canadian friend, it's not that I didn't like my roommates, it was just a good opportunity.
As you have so proved! Wow That's REALLY mixed up! Must have been nice, though, to have the smaller rent for the first little bit. Did you get to hang out with your roomies alot? Or were you guys working too much? I know they said 40-50 hours a week on the phone itnerviews, but I was reading a UK thread on work times and some people work 12 hours shifts! I didn't think those type of hours existed...
lol. I was really good friends with My German and French Roomies. Depending on where you are working the hours vary. I don't know much about merch and attractions but in F&B it varies. Sometimes they give you marathon seating and greeting shifts that are basically all day shifts and then once you start serving, you either work in the morning, afternoon or a mid which is all day. I think on popcorn once I worked like 14 hours but that was New Years and the park was crazy busy.
Hey I'm heading down on October 19th to work Food and Bev for Canada! Can you tell me a bit about the timeframe from going from the cart to serving?
