I just want to say that starting this thread wasn't a good idea....'throw in's' are supposed to be a suprise, and if word does get out, then it's a 'welcome party', since 'throw in' gives it away. Way to go everyone.
Though in my case a little bit of warning is a good thing. At least I get to warn people that I'm not being anti social by not drinking and to be ready to transport me to a hospital if any one spikes my drink to liven me up (I don't need livening up anyway) and throwing me in to a pool is liable to end up with me in a similar state....... Just my ha'penny's worth ;D
Not really no.... I started this post. We have had throw-ins where people don't turn up or are completely unaware of any welcoming whatsoever and go home missing out on the fun. This has certainly been the case in the last few of our throw-ins, Kev
I heard so much about the 'legendary throw ins' but on my first night our arrival group had to find the people doing ours.. and by the time we did most of us were so knackered we went home.. I heard it involved a cow and some liquids! Anyway, ours was messed up mostley coz of the fact that half of us were in Chatham.. B x
Whats up everyone, I hope you guys prepare a Super Throw In for all us getting there on October 18th, personally I will try to get there with a bottle of Tequila VIVA MEXICO jajaja... Dont worry I will share... See yall in 17 days... Â
Lol yeah seriously, if we hadn't known about throw ins before we got here, we would have missed out completely
I guess times have changed....when I was there, people would kill you if you let out the secret of Throw In's. I didn't know about mine, and I didn't miss it....and I attended every throw in for a year, and no one ever 'missed' theirs. Whatever.
The whole 'missing' it scenario is being played out because a lot of us have been put in Chatham so are pretty removed from the Commons goings on We literally would never have been at our throw ins because the commons people didn't know we were all down the street!
neither did we and it was a good thing! i wouldn't have wanted to know and nobody ever complained about not knowing! it was a big secret and i think that's what it still should be! when i went there i had no idea at all about what's going expect me...i think people know a little too much nowadays before they get there...
Each throw in is different in its own way. And I can only speak for canadians, but it is definately something you do not want to miss. You get a first hand look at your fellow canadians and how much they really care. They do go to all this work to welcome each person that comes into the pavillon. If your about to go down to Florida, have a great time at your throwin. This will be your first Magical moment at Disney! If you are already down there, don't spoil any surpirises!! Brandy
My friend who told me alot of stuff about this program, mentioned throwins are alot of fun, but wouldnt tell me anything bout them, bc it is supposed to be a surprise when u get there as to what is goin to happen during it...and I still dont kno anything really, cept its a party and a blast! and thats all I need to kno, bc I like surprises too!! Im just worried Im gonna get lost when I get off the plane!! LOL...
I thing its a good idea to mention it to ppl so they know not to go straight to bed! lol I can't wait - all I know is it should be fun.. Helen xx
throw ins - what can i say lol?! well lets see i got thrown in a week late as i fell asleep but seriously guys its a lot of fun!! ;D
Guys PLEASE a big thing for the Oct 18, people... yeeeee!!! By the way do you know if they still sendig people to Chatam.. instead commons?
I think it's OK to know. I knew it was going to happen, but I didn't know WHAT was going to happen. It does give you a reason to try to stay awake. I dunno how it is know, but as my year progressed, it was getting harder and harder to find the newbies because housing wouldn't tell us! It often took managers calling to find out, or staking out the bus stop waiting for them. Don't skip your throw-in. You'll regret it. Your throw-in and throw-out are two of the biggest nights. If you already know somebody down there, have them bring a camera. I wish I had pics of my throw-in. I have lots of pics of everyone else's, but not mine! So, if anyone has pics from the August 6th, 2003 Canadian throw-in...there was only two of us...I want them!!! Shan
