things to do when days off

i know...ill let u in on a tip...befirend sum1 hu works in TK maxx....i know my local one gets LOADS of aberbromie and hollister stuff...they wil tell u wen its in and get there its gud stuff!

 

im all for answering questions and giving advice but this topic just goes a little bit too far.......

wat to do with ur days off??? come on people!!!!! wat do u do in your own country on your days off at the moment? its not rocket science, u are just in a diff country so u will be seeing different things but u use ur INITIATIVE and find things to do and make friends and have fun

why do people have to be so mean ??? i think people are just curious as to all the things they can do on their days off..(touristy stuff)

 

It's Orlando. There are about a MILLION touristy things to do. Find things off the beaten track, don't just do all the mainstream things. Rent a car and just drive with no destination...best day I had.

i want to go down and do the gator canoe ride thing( south of orlando)....my brother did it when he went to florida...looked like so much fun

Yea i think thats the point we all (well most of us) all KNOW the usual touristy stuff but what about the stuff off the beaten track, anything yous done that not many people are aware of.

I've been on one!! it was so noisy and we only saw ONE alligator and it was tiny...my dad reckoned it was an animatronic that had escaped from WDW!! I'm sure if you see more wildlife it's pretty good!! very in there with REAL Florida!

i remember seeing those little teeny alligaors in the congo river mini golf...has ne1 seen them? they r so weird and u can dangle food to them...its wrong made me sad....FREE ALL ALLYS and crocs....u know in case they get jealous or whatever

 

im sorry if some feel that i was mean in what i said,

HOWEVER

i just think part of the exciting thing about this year away is getting to the place first and then finding your own friends and your own memories, i thought my year was gonan be spent hanging around with the people i had met on here and that we would totally follow the advice given on here, but we didnt......... it was all part of the experience, becoming more independent and adventurous

if you will notice, on the other boards for those of you who havnt gone out there yet, ive tried to act how i would wish for someone to act towards me if i was going to be going away to disney, i have given you advice and stuff and sometimes i think the alumni get given s**t for it...

i mean look at some of the topics that land up in the alumni board that end up in conversations along the lines of "yeh that was totally cool".... "im up for shopping".... "yeh me too" ....."yeh and me too" (and the the topic to begin with was like trying to find an ex CM????) and we dont say anything about it cos we know how excited u guys are about ur year, cos thats exactly the way we felt about it too..........

so i simply meant by my previous post in this topic that there are some things that you should prepare for and some things that really arent that big a deal so chill and enjoy the run up to going and then have a whole lotta fun whilst ur there

I was just doing some searches on the internet and came across a fun site: http://www.allorlandotours.com/ ~ it talks about a variety of tours, all out of Orlando.

I think it's a fun site to see what's available for those that like to do the group tour thing, or aren't sure what's available!!

And it gives and idea of prices...so we know what to expect!!!

Personally, I love the idea of swimming with the manatees!!

I have to second the hanging out with people off here when I was there. I met a lot of people on here and may have hung out a little bit, or saw them on the bus, but the best friends I made out there I met once I was out there (although in an odd twist of fate, my now boyfriend and I did have a 3 or 4 post chat on here prior to being there because we were supposed to have the same arrival date, but he was delayed...and it took us a looonnnngggg time after we were together to put two and two together!!!).

I don't think people are trying to make definite plans or anything....just curious to know what there is to do. and, obviously, we're all getting far too over excited and our imaginations are running wild! I do agree that probably the best times will be the unplanned, sporadic ones, but there's no harm in getting some ideas together.....
