It really depends on who you live with. On the CRP you tend to hang out with your own countries because they're who you spend all your time with at work, but of course you'll get to know your roommates and their friends and the further on into your program the more friends you'll have from different countries. Just don't expect everyone to speak in English when they're talking with people from their country. The C bus (to and from Epcot) is never quiet because of all the different nationalities. In one of my apartments though (I lived in a total of 3 on the CRP from all the moving I did!) I live with 5 other girls, and all of them could speak Spanish apart from me. It got very irritating but it did help that my actual roommate is a very close friend from the program and she made sure they weren't ever saying bad things about us! In the end I moved into a one bedroom apartment with a girl from Scotland and it all became a lot easier!
Yeah I'm just a little bit nervous that I'll be in that same situation and everyone I'm put with will speak a different language between themselves! And I doubt on the ICP you can change rooms seeing as we're only there for 3 months?! :/ xxx
Technically only 50% of the apartment are allowed to be from one country (though I know of instances where this wasn't the case) but of course, even if people are from different countries they might all know the same language. On the ICP you'll generally be living in Vista, Chatham or Patterson and may live with Americans, where obviously the language barrier isn't there! As far as I know you can't request to move on the ICP, but if you are in a situation like that then you can go to housing and see what they can do. I've not heard of anyone having roommate language issues on the ICP, just the CRP, so most likely you won't have any problems.
I know of people who have been unhappy. My friends Rosie lived in an apartment with all people from different language barriers but it didnt bother her. She got moved near the end of her program anyway which can happen on the ICP due to over 50% of the roommates leaving. But any problems as DisneyGibbs said, just go to housing and they will tell you what they can do for you Hope that helped aswell.
