The Waiting Room

Yes a mass email saying to call for starts dates would be nice. Although i guess if they did that then they would be plugged up with phones calls all at once. this may pace them out a bit so it will be a smoother process.... i hope

 

It's definitely probably better for them to spread things out, and get the summer people, and then the early CRPs dealt with first....it just makes waiting so much more difficult. I hope we hear by tomorrow because I will be on Reading Week next week and away. I am debating about calling Eric to tell him a friends number that I can be reached at, and maybe he'll just tell me I got accepted lol!

 

Ya i Want to do the same thing if I havent heard. I leave for Florida next week. Im sure we will know by next week though. I dont think i can handle going on vacation and not knowing. grrrrrr i still keep checking my email incase it was delayed.

Your just probably on the later thing. I wish it was an e-mail to everyone so you guys would know. I know I would be so upset, and sick over this happening. I do feel lucky. *Sprinkles Pixie Dust on everyone waiting* good luck. Like I said on our facebook group. ILoveTink you should really call tomorrow, you have a good reason to want to know. And maybe you will find out more, plus hopefully find out you got the job. (Cause really you should have it. I was certain you would get it for sure. And I still am.)

Anyway Eric was too busy so I will have to wait till tomorrow to find out my arrival date. But I am happy I know at least now. Hopefully I can sleep. (And I really do wish you all the best. I will keep in contact and keep watching this place.)

I wasn't able to speak to Eric but I did find out when my arrival date is....which is July 15th. I'm thinking that you may be right...that he's just doing the arrival groups together (the early groups first)...because as soon as he sends out the information he has to go through a phone call with everyone, asking them a whole bunch of questions and that takes time...that's why the spread it out.

That's why Dave found out last week and the July's are finding out today.

And if you said you were available anytime they may just plug you in where they need you. Don't loose hope. If it makes you feel any better, I got a letter last time that said I didn't get the job and then two days later Eric called to offer me a position.

Yeah, the fact that we're both leaving the 15th really suggests he only e-mailed the July people. Plus, I find it hard to believe so many wonderful, excited people aren't getting a job... you'll all be hearing soon!

I was very much hoping to go in June/July but we'll see...
I also REALLY wanted to be in my friends arrival group though, oh well, I'd rather go alone than not at all!

Thats so horrible you got a letter saying you didn't get it last time and then they called you, way to toy with your emotions lol

 

Yay. Then I must be with you two as well. I am waiting but my guess is July 15th as well if you both got July 15th. I am calling first thing tomorrow. It would be nice to have a date but at least knowing is better. And ya if we are all July 15th then it is defiantly in group order. Maybe that was a group who had no members on here. So you could still hear tomorrow. And I will post as soon as I hear my arrival date.

 

I posted this on the facebook group, but I think I'll post it here too. Don't get *too* excited about hearing tomorrow. Eric took a day between the ICP and the CRP emails to respond to phone calls, so he might do the same between different start dates for the CRP. That would mean the next e-mail wouldn't be going out until Monday.

Guys, stop calling.
It will take longer if you hound him.
Plus, he might get irritated and then just scratch your name off the list.
He said 2-3 weeks. Call on week 4 day 1.
Until then, relax.

 

I am only calling cause he said to. But ya I agree. Especially if you don't have a real big reason for it. Like I can understand Heather if she is going away. Though maybe you can e-mail him, can you check your e-mail down there. If you get one from him just reply and let him know you will phone him when you get back. Don't want to miss out. Good luck to you guys. I really think you guys still have a great chance at this. I don't think they were only recruiting for July 15th.

For thoese in the CRP who have already done it, (Which really is not many of us) Anyone know what is asked when you call Eric? I never thought about it till now. In fact I only though it was your arrival, but then I realize that he said "details to get you started" so I don't know. I want to make sure I am ready so I can give the right answers.

 

if it is the same as icp (which I assume it is since eric startd telling me crp stuff then corrected himself) it will be about getting a background check and faxing it to him, whther you have a passport yet, that you need medical insurance (for you guys it's for the first four months you are there) and how much the program assesment fee is ($85.50) and he'll tell you that you'll get your package of stuff about a month before you leave.

Yep, that's exactly what he told me! He also asked if I had any questions.
Maybe if someone is calling to find out about their position they could ask if/when others will hear... that would be a nice treat for the group.
