Wow... here so far we had one for Merch and Attractions (October 2nd) and I heard there will be another two dates for F&B.

For my interview we were in total around 28 for CPR and 8 candidates for Guest's Relations. And from the 28 you should remove like two or three No-Shows.

We had one day with about 30 people in my town. Most were there for the CRP, and some were there for the international Culinary Program (I had no idea Disney did this). We don't have phone interviews beforehand.

    BUT...

Because I'm part of the whole Sub-Saharan Africa area, they're still going to interview in a few different countries, and at least one more town in my country. So there could be a LOT of people for the 90 spots they said they wanted to fill.

My results should come in a week or 2, but they didn't give a date.

    The waiting. Sucks. Big time.

Haha, glad I could make someone laugh. :)

I'm just writing my blog to keep my hands busy and keep me from pressing the refresh button on my inbox every 2 seconds. (That button is gonna be overused over the next 3 weeks).

The obsessive email checking won't begin until Wed, for me. I'm considering temporarily deactivating my facebook etc. I know I would completely freak out if people hear before me, so I'd rather not know at all.

The more I think of it, (Believe me, I try not to) the more I cringe at things I said, and annoyed that I forgot to say some really important things.

Eeeeeeeek.... Anyone found a way to cope with this big wait, yet? I've been preparing for halloween, and that's about it.

I'm a constant email checker anyways, so nothing has changed there. I somehow feel a little calmer about it today than I did before now.

I've got friends from Norway visiting tomorrow night, so that'll hopefully keep me distracted enough to last until they leave on Friday. In the mean time, I've got work and LOADS of tidying to do! (They need somewhere to sleep after all, and the spare room is a tip! Lol)

The only other thing that's kinda keeping me distracted is writing my next blog update. It's an epicly long post, and it's still not finished. Thank god for draft saving! I'm not sure if I'll get it up tonight, or when it'll be finished. I have so much to say, it's taking forever.

For now though - I have to get ready for work. Hmm Wednesday lunch - any good films out this week? Hopefully it'll be a nice level of busy that'll keep me occupied. (I ask about the films because my restaurant is right next to a cinema - Wednesday nights, orange 241s, it gets ugly sometimes!)

Watch films and play games... and don't go killing off your refresh buttons guys!!! Not just yet, anyway!

This! I think I might only be visiting here until Thursday evening. Although I can't help checking the inbox, I think Friday would be the earliest we are likely to hear (it's when they heard last time round, but then they were told they would hear within the week rather than our 3 weeks) and since they don't usually send all the emails out at once I don't think I could bear seeing other people getting emails and knowing mine was about to come! Especially if they sent the acceptances out first so I know that my email if more than likely to be a rejection! That would be horrendous!

And I really know what you mean about thinking back over things you said! I keep trying not to, but it creeps back up on me, usually as I'm trying to sleep! I've decided I have no idea how I did because I can think of SOOOO many things I wish I could change but then a few things that I thought went well.

I'm taking the dog on the longest walks known to man to distract myself... which he isn't complaining about ;D

Well I've come to my grandparents to hopefully take my mind off this whole thing. However my phone has internet & my email account directly links on it.& I couldn't possibly receiving more useless emails. I don't think my heart can take 3 weeks of random email notifications. I think they gave themselves 3 weeks just in case we were all fabulous & just to properly get everything together and organised.

Or they are perfecting my rejection email down til the last full stop.

So strange to think that a whole year of our lives could have already been arranged!
I'm trying to convince myself to expect a "no", as much as I'm begging for a "yes" in hope that it wont be such a downer if I get a rejection. It's not nice to think about, but the interview keeps popping into my mind and the more I think about it the worse I feel I did. I need to take up a new and extreme hobby or something to take my mind off it all.
I know exactly what you mean about pointless emails! I've already received 2 emails today from "staff" at the "Bank of Africa" offering to put millions of dollars into my account. What lovely people ::) Pfft... sure.

Does anybody know whether it's disney or yummy that sort out the departure dates?

I feel exactly the same as you. Plus I've taken it to the next level, i've told family & friends (and anyone who asks) that I haven't got it.... I think my best bet it the Opportunity list - got my fingers crossed for that big time. I'm not quite sure if I can cope with being near a computer for much longer, the email notifications stop my heart from beating for a few seconds every time! Haha. If I haven't already said it - Good Luck everyone. :)

I think Disney give the dates & Yummy sort out who gets what date because they know everyone's preffered dates.

yeah, it's kind of a bit of both, I think Disney say dates and positions and maybe people? and yummy do all the middle man stuff like checking who said they can go on what date and availability etc x x x

This is an "Oh My Lady Gaga" moment. Just got a call for a Disney Store interview on Sunday!!! Another 2 hours immersed in Disney. Can't wait. Although its a group thing then a one on one interview!! Scary. Anyone work at the Disney store wanna throw some tips my way?! Least I have my "why I want to work for Disney" answer ready ha.

Actually this might be a bad thing as I keep thinking about Disney then, doh!

Oooohhh which Disney Store? I work at Covent Garden.
Be yourself is my biggest tip! Hopefully they'll be as nice as my management team and make you feel really at ease like the WDW recruiters did.

Our managers want to make sure that you would fit well into their team, and how well you deal with guests in certain situations.

They'll ask you all the normal customer service questions like, how have you dealt with a difficult guest (if you call them guests you'll get serious brownie points), have you ever worked to targets (we have lots of different personal and team targets), and of course why you want to work for Disney :D
Our store also makes interviewees do a role play, where you have to sell a Cast Member a gift for someone - for example I would say to you that I needed a gift for my 5 year old Nephew. If they do this, just ask/confirm these 4 points - How old are they, are they a boy or a girl, do they have a favourite character/film, how much do you want to spend? Then take the Cast Member to the relevant part of the store and suggest some items for their make believe Nephew! If you really want to WOW them, and put yourself way in their good books (which I strongly suggest you do!) offer them what we call go withs. So say you sold them a buzz lightyear toy, ask them if they want a toy story lunch box or pencil case to 'go with it'.

Mention that you 'know' someone who works at the Covent Garden Store (my name is Stevie-Rhiannon) because Disney like the family and friend connection!

Is your job for a christmas temp or a permanent position, cause it might not be a good idea to mention the CRP application!

Feel free to ask more questions! x

THANK YOU SO MUCH. that was a huge help, we have a group thing first then a one on one interview. It's a Christmas temp job in the bullring, Birmingham. So its a big busy store which I'd love to work at. I'll def mention you if I'm asked. I'll say she's a top CM lol. Is it ok if I PM you some questions? Only thing I can think of is what the group thing entails.

    Thanks again hunny!
