not to make you loose hope but when i had my interview they weren't giving roles of entertainment or costuming or lifeguard they said this summer is only merch, attractions fand B and custodial but i mean if you've worked there before they might give it to you again - less training i suppose? But in my experience attractions is amazing i loved it, i thought it would be bad coz i was fantasyland with all the kiddies but its great theres so many ppl where you work and you change role every 40 minutes cant wait to go back (if i get it!)

Hey, at the interviews there is no harm putting down character, they measure you at the interview, so its not as if you will get to florida and find out you are too tall! if you are too tall they will just give you a job in one of the other roles! They usually ask people at the presitation who will be applying for character. You dont need any experience for it either.

  3. When was your interview? And where are you from if you don't mind me asking? When I was talking to Eric last week I told him I was a lifeguard and he said I should go for that for the summer. And I know there have been other lifeguards in the summer, I'm pretty sure I read someones blog from last year. Thanks for the heads up though!

What attraction did you work at? Was there more than one?

I worked in Merchentainment (Lol) and I loved it. I got lots of face to face contact with the guests which I absolutely loved. I was lucky with the area I got too cause I got to move about a lot and work with loads of different people. I think every single job has good and bad points. I had friends who worked custodial and they absolutely loved it because they got to move about all day and had a bit more freedom.

I haven't done it..but i would say its just..busy really to be honest..if you've ever been in a disney park ull realise that you just get slaved away..
On the bright side tho..its not really that challenging, haha..

hiya my interview was in the middle of february n i'm from the south east. Sorry for the misunedstanding you CAN be a lifeguard or character etc. but they just said there wasnt any availiability for those positions this summer because of the amount of people on the college program out there right now - but as i say maybe they'll make exceptions if you're already trained! I worked on Dumbo and Philharmagic(the 3D show) and if i went back to the same area i could also work on its a small world, peter pan. golden carousel, winnie the pooh, snow white and teacups! It was pretty amazing (at least i thought it was) but everyone has their own idea of what they'd enjoy the most!

  9. Oh, okay! :D I understand what you're saying now!

I love Mickey's Philharmagic! It's my favorite show (3d or otherwise!) at WDW!

I worked in QS F&B for 3 and a half months and loved it. It all really depends on your location....I worked in the Main Street Bakery and Cone Shop, where only about 15 other CP's work...we were all very close and even though it was busy during the whole time I was there (especially Spring Break, everyone was at melting point towards the end) we had so much fun. I don't think I would have liked to have worked at a bigger location like Cosmic Rays because you usually have up to 40 CP's working there, and then the full timers on top of that, so the atmosphere is different, but each to their own I suppose. You just have to make the most out of every opportunity you have. I became recognised as part of the MSN 100 Club, which is Main Street North's way of recognising that you're extremely fast on the registers lol....over 100 transactions in an hour....now that's something.!

I then went to attractions for 7 and half months and to be honest I can't compare the two roles I had. Once you are there you will come to realise what you wouldn't do if you ever returned.

I did merchandise last year and really liked it so I wouldn't worry. There are good and bad job in all the different roles.

Yeah..its not really like your average boring hotel though i suppose..coz its disney..so its more of a resort..what i mean't by boring is that apparently you aren't really that busy..but that could be a plus to some i would of thought..

Ugggggggh really hope I'm in one of the parks, or even Downtown Disney... Definitely don't want to be in one of the hotels or TTC!!! Oh well, I guess it's all Disney... but bah, being stuck in TTC would be so hectic and not nearly as magical as working in one of the parks and being able to do Magical Moments and all that!

Do you reckon they take what you said when they asked what you're favourite bit/ride/show at Disney is? Or any way of e-mailing and begging to be a certain area? Wishful thinking I guess..!
