Definitely would be a bonus having a car. I plan on driving mine down. I wouldn't drive to work every day though, the buses aren't bad and they make for a good time to take a nap too! :D

I would agree, 4AM, trying to get on a bus... not ideal, but thankfully even with EMH, I don't believe World Showcase or EPCOT would stay open any later that 1AM at the latest. Could be wrong but I think it's just the Magic Kingdom that has the crazy EMH until 3AM.

Also cars are a must for trips to the beach! Though I've been watching Discovery channel this week and it's shark week. Apparently Florida has the highest amount of shark attacks in the world. They think it's because the waters are murkier than most other areas and so the sharks have a hard time differentiating humans flesh from fish... not to scare anyone, but it's good to be aware!

  2. Yeh, we had a haitian driver (surprise surprise) who was so fed up with the rush for the bus that he left with it empty and only came back when all 100 or so people waiting phoned up the depot and got him to return. He really was an idiot. Another reason to chose my friend's car over having someone like that drive me back to chattham.

  3. Yes that would be the benefit of working anywhere but MK.

Some of the american coach drivers were idiots, one pulled up at westclock after a day with EMH, there was the usual rush of people as soon as it stopped but the driver just sat there for about 5 minutes with doors closed and took pictures of everyone waiting!!

    Wow, that is gutsy...
American Coach: Giving castmembers new reasons to get their own car everyday

  6. Yeh this guy (noel if I remember correctly) started designating people to seats and then pushed my friend off backwards when she requested to see his name badge which he had taken off. There really are some idiot drivers who work for American Coach. It was the one thing I didn't miss. There was one guy who was really good though. I can't remember his name but he had longish mousy hair. He used to make sure everyone got on, if he saw them push they got sent to the back and on the buses where you couldn't stand up he just told them to sit on the floor and 3 people to a chair. He really was brilliant, him and Alibaba (not his real name lol); both of whom would stop and chat for ages to give people more time if it was one of the last buses to leave from West Clock at closing.

even with extra tragic hours, we are easily out by 11.30 at the very latest

I know the first guy, he was really nice, if not a bit too nice, if i was ever at the front of the bus he'd join in my conversations, but he did always get everyone on! And Alibaba was awesome, except that he'd talk on the loudspeaker thing all the way home when you were trying to sleep!! ::)

  9. That he did LOL but it did mean that I didn't sleep through the Chattham stop when my friend 'forgot' to wake me up and waited for someone else to poke me. Wasn't impressed when even the F bus had stopped running. I had to get one of the American Coach people to drive me back. I never did have the other guy joining in our conversation tbh we were just glad that he waited for us to get on.

I watched that program! I couldn't believe Florida was number 1! I totally thought it'd be Australia!!!

As for bus drivers, in my experience that they were really nice :) They have the Disney touch most of them :) However, it is nice for late at night to be able to just jump in your car!

We'd all be in Epcot world showcase though and that closes earlier than futureworld... unless it's EMH I think World Showcase closes at 7am most night except for Illuminations! It's not like we have to catch the bus super late at night :)

you definitely get less sleep! 4-5 hours per night if lucky! There's just too much to do! But you adapt and manage to function just fine! Sleep is for the bus when after a shift everyone starts to drift off and it's head bob city! It's sooooo funny to watch on the bus! lol! ;D

  14. Except when it is you who has dropped off and has missed your stop :p

I used to get the bus to and from school. Falling asleep on the way home... not a problem. I got off at the bus depot :p

i used to love watching people fall asleep...it got annoying though when you were on the buses with the sideways seating and people would fall asleep on your shoulder! But then it'd be so funny when the bus would go flying around the corner and all the people on the wrong side would suddenly wake up as they were sliding off the seats!! ;D

  18. That it was lol though usually I was one of those people. I stopped after my so called friend 'forgot' to wake me up. I can tell you this .. he is no longer my friend lol.

Remember when we were in the water in Cocoa beach and the lifeguard started waving that red flag and blowing his whistle because a shark was in the water? :D And we were like "huh? why's he doing that? are we supposed to get out?"

Then we get out and see the fin floatin' along - eep! About 20 mins later though, went back in and just left a buffer of other people around us... :D Maybe it was Bruce? Fish are frieeeends, fish are frieeeeends, fish are frieeeeends! Not fooooood!

I remember once after a shift completely passing out on the bus back to Vista, and thankfully somebody actually woke me up and asked if Vista was my stop! After a good little nap though, I was raring to go again! Maybe that's the key, just snag little cat naps since a full fledged sleep in just doesn't happen... no, wait, you sleep by the pool! Ahhh yes, bliss!

Sometimes the bus ride after a long shift was the greatest little source of entertainment! I'd have a hard time keeping the chuckles in sometimes!!

haha...i'm not surprised!! I at least used to tell the driver to wake people up if they were sleeping, but i bet some of them left people sleeping while they drove around all night...
