I was in Florida the year that TBay won. That was fun! We went over to Tampa for a concert during the day and went and watched one of the finals games outside the arena at night. They broadcast the games on the side of the big parking garage across the street. So fun. While the Leafs were still in, we went to ESPN Zone at Boardwalk to catch the games. Sadly, had to work the day of the cup parade so couldn't go. It's a weird place to watch hockey since the games are never sold out (especially coming from the Tdot where if you don't get tix the day they go on sale...too bad for you!!!). Went over to see the Leafs both times they came to town. Ahhh...fun times. Go to lots of games!!! Shannon
Good news! I think I did relatively well on my Finance exam and still got to watch the game yesterday! It would be pretty cool to go watch a game at St. Petes Forum, the tix are probly cheaper then here in Canada. I guess we'll wait a week and see if that's still possible for when I go down since Tampa bay is still in it for now. Thankfully, I'm heading to Montreal a week before I head down so I might get to catch a Habs game then! I think I mentioned it before, but that's the only thing about going down that I'll miss is watching the playoffs, especially if the Habs get far this year. But who knows, I can always hope for a Canadiens/Lightning Eastern conference final!
Aww man...I wish I was going with you in May, that would be awesome. I'm assuming they wont still be in it when I get there in June.... Full value to the Canadian teams for wins tonight
The way they're playing, doesn't seem to likely... But you never know, maybe there'll be a repeat of the 2003-2004 finals and it'll go into game 7 with the Flames... and 10 bucks says the St. Pete Times forum still wouldn't be sold out... Tom, have you talked to Cast-A-Way to see if you could get your arrival date bumped up? It might be a bit late or maybe you have other things to do until then but, thought I'd check.
Good games again tonight...wow Colorado. Since its kind of a sports thread...have to give props to Steve Nash, grew up 20 minutes from my house...now a two-time NBA MVP - first time a non-American has ever done that. Anyway yeah, honestly I'm not too worried about the arrival date since I was actually able to get a government contract for two whole months before I head down, so it actually works out ok even though I would have liked to have gotten there sooner....can make some money this way, and they probably wouldn't have taken me on if I was only available till mid April. Either way yeah it would have been a lot of fun to go to a Lightening game, but I'll be down there to watch the end of the finals with you guys on NBC.....fun.
3 words.... Fire Dan Marouelli! The Habs/Lightning game yesterday had some of the worst officiating ever! Comparable to Kerry Fraser in the 03/04 Stanley Cup finals... unbelievable... Although I have to commend Cam Ward on a brilliant performance... he is a former Red Deer Rebel, so he's got to be decent. Go Red Deer! Ya, Colorado's doing pretty good, they might actually sweep! Did they already decide MVP for NBA? That's awesome though, Steve Nash is cool! He's a good role model for young Canadian basketball players. That's good it works out for you, and hey, that's probly some good experience for ya too! But ya, it'll be good times watching the finals, hopefully a canadian team... gotta warn y'all though, I can get pretty intense wacthing hockey... but I guess if you're canadian, its in your blood eh?
Yeah I haven't said much but I have to warn you guys I'm cheering against the Habs. I know Wardo personally so go 'canes go!
Missed the Ottawa-Tampa game last night....from the sounds of it, Tampa should have put a pylon in net
Losing Koivu really hurts the Canadiens.... So hockey playoffs notwithstanding, what do you think the chances are of us getting a group together to go to Tampa Bay on August 15,16,and or 17th when the Blue Jays are in town...
Habs will win to get them back for Koivu! I must admit that baseball is definitely not my favorite sport, but I would be up for it just to have been to a baseball game... I'm sure there'd be others up for it too.
I can't watch baseball on TV, but I really like going to see the games live....it's nice to just go to safeco field in seattle when the roof's open and just relax for a few hours. Definitely not intense, but a lot of fun.............. Surprise come from behind victory by Edmonton tonight...I hope we get that battle of Alberta in round 2...
I totally agree, outshot 17-2 in the 2nd and they still come back to win! As entertaining as a Battle of Alberta will be I gotta remind everyone of the Alberta ABC's Anyone But Calgary! Thus, GO DUCKS GO! Plus we're all Disney nuts, part of everyone here has to be rallying behind ANaheim! And so far tonight they're being robbed, should be 2-1 at this point...
Calgary vs. Edmonton would be awesome! And I thought that Disney actually cut its ties with the Ducks... maybe they just toned it down and let the Ducks be a team instead of trying to make it a show. Must win for the habs tonight! Hopefully the forwards will quit slacking and do something! As for the baseball, I agree, everytime I see it on TV I just switch to a different channel. But it would be cool to just go, have some peanuts and hotdogs and enjoy a nice day.
Yup Disney technically has nothing to do with the Ducks anymore but for now at least (I hear they're gonna drop the Mighty from their name next year and possibly have a new jersey/logo) they look like the Might Ducks from the movie, they are named as such of a Disney property, and c'mon look at the proximity of the pond to Disneyland! The proximity is there. The dark blue is Disneyland/California Adventures, Green is the Arrowhead Pond (Home of the MIGHTY DUCKS of Anaheim), and the light blue is the Angels ballpark (of Angels in the Outfield fame). I believe Disney still officially has ties with that club. As far as I'm concerned officially or not they are the Disney team, and will be until they get a new name/logo/jersey, or move the current name/logo/jersey to a different home.
Hey Jorden! Maybe you or one of your hockey kids could help answer this questions for me... who's the ridicuously HOT guy in the gatorade commercial? You know, the guy that throws his stick into the little kids' hockey game and then everyone else wants in on that guys bootay?
im not positive ( i havent seen the commercial) but i bet its sidney crosby, hes got some gatorade contest i heard about so its probably related
Haha, I haven't seen the commercial yet either but I would be surprised if it wasn't him. Not to knock him or anything, after all, he is a great player and I love seeing Canadian talent, but has anyone seen his reebok commercial? ( I think it was reebok, the one where he's like "this is sprink break, and the summer lodge" or whatever) Has anyone seen that in French? I know he's not Quebecois, but his accent was pretty brutal. But aside that, great kid, great future ahead of him... although I personally don't find him that hot
