maybe they'd both make it but the Avs would have to loose some other games too I think (don't they have 3 or 4 left?)

I stand by an earlier statement I mean (might not have been on here)...

Edmonton or Vancouver won't make the playoffs...

And if Roloson keeps playing like I've seen him play I have a feeling it'll be Edmonton that finishes 9th. Those 13 OTL points can only carry you so far.

Ya, for Colorado to drop out, they'd have to lose all of their games and the Oilers and Canucks would have to win all of them... not very likely, but still possible. If this happened, Vancouver and the Avs would be tied, with the exact same win loss record, I wonder which team won the season series, that may prove to be important.

All of the teams are in action tonight, we may see both the Western and Eastern conferences decided tonight... exciting times!

Yeah I dunno about the west unless Edmonton gets their 14th OTL... Actually Edmonton/Vancouver won't be decided until the final game I'm pretty sure.

True, but if the canucks lose, they're pretty much done, barring a total collapse from the oilers...

Ooooh.... looks like the canucks are out. Didn't I say it could be decided tonight? :p
Montreal is looking pretty good, only needs 1 point to clinch. It was a good day, and I had a barbeque today!!! tons of fun!

So anyone have any playoff predictions?

    East:
Ott. vs. TB - I think Ottawa will take this one, unless they choke, they have too much skill.

Car. vs. MTL - I think the habs will be able to pull an upset as long as Huet or Aebischer play well, although the last game of the season wasn't great... they can do it!

NJ vs. NYR - This one's no contest, Jersey will take it, they're too hot going into the playoffs and New york is on a cold streak.

BUF vs. PHI -This one's tough, I'll go with the flyers though since they had a better finish to the season and also have more playoff experience in net with Esche

    WEST

DET vs. EDM - Detroit will take this one, unless they get over confident again like they did 2 years ago against the ducks where they got swept.

DAL vs. COL - Dallas will probably win this series unless Theodore has pulled it back together.

CGY vs. ANA - Calgary definitely. One word: Kiprusoff

NSH vs. SJ - I think San Jose will win because they have come on strong at the end of the season.

Playoffs start on Saturday! I wish I didn't still have exams to do.

Ah, my bad, my bad. Saturday is Montreal's first game, which is the series that matters anyway :p

Montreal pounded Carolina 6-1!!!! What a way to start the playoffs! Now to just keep it goin!

The Oil had a tough loss, we'll see if they can bounce back tommorrow.

Yeah I actually think despite being horribly out shot the Oil scored the better goals (Detroits last two were pretty lucky bounces)...we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I must applaud the Oiler's effort today in a 4-2 win over Detroit. I didn't think they'd be able to pull of a win. I still don't think they'll take the series though :p

I'm glad the Oilers won today because they deserved to win Game 1 for how they played. I hope they do well in the next 2 in EDM.

    Go Ottawa and Calgary tonight!

Well Matt sounds like you haven't watched much of the two games. The Oilers are pretty much owning this series. Sure they're being outshot and lost the first game in OT, but literly 4/5 of Detroits goals so far have been garbage goals/lucky bounces. If the games keep going at this pace I predict Oil in 6 (or likely 5).

You're right, I've only seen the highlights from the first game. Detroit hasn't been playing well, and maybe they won't in the series, but if they do, I stand by my prediction... maybe I'll have to eat those words, but we'll find out soon!

yup I really believe they only won game one because as soon as they crossed the blue line they essentially just threw the puck at the net (c'mon 57 shots!!! at some point one of those is bound to go in) but both the winner and the tieing goal were lucky bounces, same as both of their goals today imo...

Did anyone catch the Habs/Hurricanes game tonight?!? Oh man, was it ever intense!
I'm proud of the Habs for not completely breaking down like they've done before, I guess it helps when they have a goalie who they can be confident in.
I was getting real anxious after the first OT though. I didn't want it to go too long cause I still needed to study! Thankfully Koivu and Ryder ended it relatively early in the 2nd OT... They did it for FINANCE!!! YEAH!
