Is anyone tempted to contact Nicola? My daughter is going back and forth as to whether she should email her. If we hadn't found this site, we'd be no the wiser, but now that a few for the summer program have been contacted, the wait is almost too much! She really felt she did well at the interview, but as others have said, the waiting makes you start to second-guess yourself!
Heh, I know what you mean about the wait! I would give it a bit longer, you never know! Where did your daughter have her interview?
I would say wait as well before contacting Cast A Way. When I went in '04 it took almost 2 months to find out. It appears they've definitely sped up and changed the process, but it will still take some time. Feels like time is moving sooooo slowwwllllyyyyyy - agonizing! Hang in there everyone!
She was in Toronto on Monday. There have been a few postings from people who were there as well and they've gotten a call already. I'm the mom and I'm a wreck! Can't imagine what you guys must be going through! I was with her on Monday and it was apparent that people are there for a bunch of different reasons. In her mind, she's there for all the 'right' reasons - being a love of Disney and understanding that it isn't going to be a vacation - it's going to be alot of hard work. It was interesting that the guy she interviewed with was really only interested in being able to have Disney on his resume - he was a business student. We understand his motivation, but it's hard to think that he may be chosen over her when her motivation is more in line with pure enthusiasm! Does that make sense? ???
From my experience I'd say that Disney cares more about attitude so if your daughter showed the interviewer that enthusiasm she's got nothing to worry about! ~*~Linda~*~
I would agree with littlefeather - to hold off to contact NIcola. I know this waiting game is not fun at all - everyone is anxiously waiting. Even in my interviews that I went to in Toronto he said to wait until March 27th and if you havent received a phone call - then contact cast-a-way - but that doesnt necessarily mean you dont have a job. I know that there were a few people in Toronto on Sunday that requested they could leave ASAP and I am SURE they were the very first ones to be called!! They NEED to get thier paperwork completed ASAP and get down there!! I requested that I would have rather go December so I suspect that it will be a WHILE before I get a call!! Waiting is hell YES......but I LOVE IT!! EXCITMENT! ;D

Yeah, I'd say 100% DO NOT call them, they said they'd call you, so leave them to it. Castaway must be beyond busy now with the 6 (?) interviews they just did for Cultural Rep and COllege Program, as well as shipping people off next week and 2 weeks after that (ME!) Disney has also had something like 8 people get termed in February, so they have tons of last minute replacement people to hire and get all sorted out in a quarter of the time. If they told you to wait untill the 27th then go with that...I only got called 2 days before the date I was given back in Nov/Dec...the wait is horribly painful but don't give up! <3
Hey Kel....... NOT AT ALL!! They asked me when I would be AVAILABLE and I told them SEPT.1ST!! They asked me what I preferred and I told them DECEMBER!! I live with 2 other room mates and have a TON of stuff that I would have to get rid of!! My parents moved back home to Nova Scotia in November of last year so I have all my stuff here!! I want to ship some stuff over to thier new house to hold onto it for me but I would rather SELL EVERYTHING and bring the money with me!! You can ALWAYS buy new stuff when you are done.............. ;D
Those are definitely the right reasons, and yes its odd that the one guy did say he wanted it only for his resume. I’m sure our calls are coming (I’m eagerly awaiting too)…. The way they process our applications does seem weird but I’m sure they have their reasons.
Well its the weekend... I guess we can all take a breather for when monday comes, then back to being anxious!! haha. ;D
