Terming

the LAST thing id want to do is grass anyone up....but at the end of the day.... ive almost been a year waiting for my chance to get out there, and if i ever do get out there it will be even longer. NO WAY would i let anyone else spoil my opportunity

but i defo wouldnt self terminate out of guilt, u would only be saving ur own skin!

anyone who has drugs, they know the rules, its stated clearly b4 u even have ur interview, and if they have them in the apartment, then its so selfish and irresponsible. if they really feel the need to take drugs, do it outside of the apartment, that way nobody else can take blame if u get caught using them.

Its common sense i would never do drugs but just so everyone knows if anyone i live with is doing it and putting my place in jeopardy i have no problem with reporting it.. im not going home because of somebody elses drug problem!

 

yup i agree with you i dont do drugs and after working hard to get so far why should u miss out on stuff because some idiot cant spend a whole year without getting high?

If you want to risk getting termed and possibly never being able to enter the States (and probably many, many other countries) again that is your business but mess it up for me? NO WAY! I've reported people I know for stuff before and will do it again.

 

absolutely... if they cant live without getting high they shouldnt be going to disney, and it would be so selfish to ruin our experience... i have lost my temper for much less than someone ruining a life time experience hahaha i'd have to tell too... or ask megara to do it for me!!

 

No worries, I have no guilt reaction when it comes to this, so I will report for anyone who can't, as long as there is proof.

All I can do really is echo what others have said....

If you can't do without drugs don't go...

If you go and decide to do drugs, don't drag others down who want to be there obviously more than you if you can't resist the urge to do drugs! Simple as!

I'd not hesitate in reporting someone who was doing drugs in my appartment, and I would not feel guilt, forget guilt and think of the resentment you'd feel if you got terminated because your housemate was smoking pot or something along those lines?

Speaking as someone who's been there and seen many a person terminated, I thought I should comment.

A lot of the terminations that I saw happen were mostly for really unfair reasons....no-one is ever given the benefit of the doubt, work records never seemed to be looked at (unless they're trying to bring up more reasons why you should be fired!!), and it's all very upsetting to have to see it happen to someone (even when you're home in England and someone you know is terminated!!). However, at the end of the day, the managers don't make up reasons to terminate people, they just follow the rules...same with Price Management, and Disney Security....I don't exclude myself from having done stupid things that I shouldn't, but everyone just takes chances....some of the risk takers get caught and some don't....if they let one person get away with it, they'd have to give everyone second chances...and realistically, especially the UKs and Canadians, the cast members are SO very disposable....there's 20 people waiting to take your job if you get sent home, so they're not worried about not having someone to fill your position!!

As for telling tales on those you know who are doing wrong....I know someone who got his roommate terminated for having cocaine in their apartment....whilst he got a lot of stick for it (mostly from insignificant people who did not matter one little bit) everyone else praised him!! don't let some stupid person ruin your time there just because you're scared they won't like you if you do tell....if that's the case, they weren't worth worrying about in the first place!!

I don't mean to sound condescending when I say this, but while I was there, even tho I turned 23 half way thru my year, I did SO much growing up it's unreal! I still can't believe my attitude towards certain things now compared to how I was before I left....what I did learn was this: You go there for you, no-one else. If it's what you really want out of life (like it was for me), then nothing AT ALL should stop you from having a good time and just enjoying yourself!! Don't worry about what people think of you...you're always gonna find someone likeminded who may end up becoming the BEST thing that ever happened to you! You come to realise that, while many of us hope that we've left it behind at school or university, there is still this underlying class system of popularity in the commons....but if you're smart, you won't care about all that...you won't be influenced by people who you know are doing wrong....you won't care what they think about you because you know that what you do is the right thing, and if it lengthens your chances of staying there then that's what you're gonna do!!

I hope this instills some faith in everybody...stop worrying about all the things that might get you terminated! Stop worring about 'grassing' people up! go there for you.....!!!

P.S. Just thought I'd add, for some light relief, that should someone you know be terminated and it is completely justified and you never liked that person in the first place and wondered how on earth they EVER got past the phone interview, then it's quite a satisfactory feeling...what goes around, comes around!!! (anyone who knows me well enough from my year out there will know who I'm talking about!!)
